If I switch from Verizon s8+ firmware to the US unlocked firmware, can I switch back if I wanted too? I thought I remember reading that a couple weeks ago that you couldn't.

Does this allow me to flash my Verizon G8+ using Unlocked Firmware while using it on T-Mobile and keeping all of T-Mobiles features?
Currently I flashed the Unlocked Firmware, but it's missing features like Video Calling on T-Mobile.
flash the TMB userdats andswitch csc to TMB.. once done should read TMB/TMB/VZW

Thank you elliwigy!!!

1) Will my phone still be unlocked and receive the Unlocked Firmware OTA updates If I do this?

2) For the TMB Userdats? Is it the user data from this post?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/tm...sm-g955u-odin-firmware-g955usqu1aqd9-t3593600

3) how do you switch the CSC to TMB?

How to change carrier:

15. Open IME setting on Factory Binary
16. Type in *#243203855#
17. Select XAC
18. Click install
19. Wait for phone to reboot.
I'm trying to do this and step 15 I'm not sure how to do. Can you tell me how to open IME setting on factory binary?

Maybe a bit off topic but figured the more threads its posted the more people we will have searching for needed files!

To update everyone, everyone should know by now we can get into Emergency Download Mode (EDL.)

Although this is great, we are at another roadblock lol. We cannot actually flash anything yet since we need some programmer files and an xml file.

Apparently they exist but Samsung owns them as they are proprietary so Qualcomm doesn't provide them, need to be obtained by Samsung.

I know someone who has them but as of right now he is not willing to share (he has his reasons.) Let's not get off track again and complain and try to locate the files by other means.

Once we have said files, we can then flash away and work can be done for root for sure, and theres a good chance we could even have TWRP!

I also have ENG root boot for G955U so once we can find these files we can flash it and most likely release it if I get the green light.

With that being said, the files needed are:

1) prog_ufs_firehose_8998_ddr.elf
2) prog_ufs_firehose_8998_lite.elf
3) provision_samsung.xml

Also a picture is provided below as proof they exist. Keep in mind these files are specific to the Snapdragon 835 UFS msm8998 (the US S8/S8+.) Without these files we cannot utilize edl to flash as we need to set it prior to a flash in QFIL or Mi Flash tools or other tools that are capable of flashing in EDL mode.

Another potential avenue is similar to the Axon 7 if someone can write up acustom ADB/Fastboot exe that can communicate in EDL then we can simply run a cmd to flash boot and/or recovery (in theory.)

If you locate any of these files please PM meand we will bring you into the HO and we can get the ball rolling!

We are close but so far still... We have at least 4 othersactively seaking these files. More brains in finding them is needed. If anyone knows anyone that can access Samsung servers or GSPN (business affiliates) then try to get them to help us out!

The "Factory binary" file I downloaded from here:

https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/how-to/carrier-switch-snapdragon-t3615680

I don't see an IME when unzipping this file. I'm sure I'm not doing this properly so I apologize but I really need to figure this out.

I don't know if I could get these. Try getting that person to share then I guess. Would these work on the S8 and S8+ with the same files?
