flashing the HOME_CSC of the G955u it goes through but starts with the process com.android.phone has stopped close app. and i cant proceed from there on. .

any ideas?

How to change carrier:
1. Download Factory Binary, EngBoot, G955U normal, and the G955W firmware
2. Turn off phone
3. Hold down on Bixby button + power + volume down
4. open Odin v3.12.7
5. add the Factory Binary to the AP section of Odin.
6. Plug your phone into your computer (NEEDS TO BE WINDOWS) with Odin open
7. Make sure your device is connected and recognized by Odin.
8. Click start.
9. One the phone reboots run the ADB command, adb reboot bootloader
10. Open modded Odin and flash the EngBoot
11. Click start
12. Once the phone reboots type the command adb reboot bootloader
13. Put the HOME_CSC of the G955W firmware into the CSC part of Odin (unmodded)
14. Click start
15. Open IME setting on Factory Binary
16. Type in *#243203855#
17. Select XAC
18. Click install
19. Wait for phone to reboot
20. Once it does open terminal and type in adb shell
21. Then type in echo "XXX" > /efs/imei/mps_code.dat
22. Type in exit into adb shell
23. Type in adb reboot bootloader
24. Flash the G955U firmware of your choosing without Userdata. Also make sure to flash the non-home CSC
25. Enjoy your new carrier!

CSC Values (replace on of these with the "XXX" in step 21):
BST Boost
VZW Verizon
ATT ATT
USC US Cellular
ACG C Spire
TMK MetroPCS
VMU Virgin Mobile
TFN Tracfone
XAS Sprint
TMB T-Mobile
XAA Unlocked US
SPR Sprint
CCT Xfinity Mobile

Don't entirely know which ones these are:
GCF World Wide
ACG Some Mid West Carriers
LRA A bunch, cant figure it out

After you do this, you can flash the EngBoot then run the command to any carrier then just reflash the original system.

Missed ?

I get model mismached in moded Odin.
Normal Odin I get the errors mentioned in m previous post. After booting.
Are you trying to do it on the S8 or S8+. This stuff is for the S8+. If it's for the S8 just switch it for the G950 files. If not, try flashing the G955U1 home_csc then G955W home_csc then type the code into IME. They might have done some stuff to fix this. I don't know. But once you get it once, you just need eng binary and the command. Try that then do what I said before for the G955U1 and G955W.

even if you got your answer, you do it after you launch your phone. you can do it at any time after this as long as you are running on the engboot.

Hi guys. I'm kinda confused about all these S8+ models.

Assuming mine is a 955W, and this tutorial uses that firmware, do I still have to download the G955U1? Or actually, does this method works at all with my model?

What are the perks to changing carriers? Currently on a AT&T S8+ but its unlocked and considering switching to T-Mobile and then flashing an unlocked firmware.
well that depends on what carrier u r on.. if someone say has an unlocked verizon device and wants to use it on tmobile and get the tmobile bells and whistles theyd need to carrier switch..

some carrier specific features such as volte or wifi calling would only work on carrier specific firmware

thats only benefit i can see to be honest lol

Maybe someone here has insight, I have the unlocked version of G955U1 with stock firmware (never played with it, so U1) and I am on Sprint, sprint just added calling plus (basically using data while on a call) problem is it seems it is only on sprint devices not on the unlocked version,
What do I need to flash (and how) in order to get the calling plus feature on my U1?

Thanks for any help.

Flashing Issue

I'm trying to return back to TMB/TMB/TMB but whenever I try to flash something, the log just gives me <OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1) directly after <ID:0/003> SetupConnection... At first, I flashed the Canadian SM-G955W firmware, then I flashed the SM-G955U1 firmware. I've tried different versions of Odin and Comsy's Odin. I've tried redownloading firmwares and attempting to use different firmwares. There was one time today were I got past this point, directly after reinstalling Samsung USB drivers, only to get a FAIL! (DeviceInfo) error after the initialization step. Then the original problem reoccurred, only to remain since. My USB debugging mode is on. I've factory reset and wiped the cache of my phone. I don't have any other cables to try. I've restarted my computer. I've taken and put back in my sim card. Oh yeah, the same thing happens when I try to flash the factory binary. I am on the latest version of the SM-G955U1 firmware. I haven't touched any of the Odin options. I really need some help, I'm kind of lost. Thanks. Sorry if this is a noob problem.

install firmware with it.
I tried to update/reinstall the firmware and do an emergency software recovery. Everything gets downloaded fine, but when the program attempts to actually install the firmware, the progress bar stays stuck at 0. I let it sit like that for more than an hour. I think the problem is the same as the Odin problem. There probably something wrong with my phone that won't let me install any new firmware, regardless of the method. Would Samsung replace my phone if I tell them what's wrong? Does installing other official firmwares disqualify this possibility?
