Carrier Unlocking through Sprint

So I am in the middle of an epic battle with Sprint. I want to carrier unlock my device. They are giving me hell because I told them it was NOT for international use, it would be domestic. They(customer retention, because Ive been at it for 2 days now) told me to go ahead to TMO. So I turned to SprintCare on Twitter(@sprintcare) and told them the FCC might be interested to hear my conversation with the 6 different customer service reps I spoke with. Or maybe CNN or Fox. They are now going to unlock my phone for domestic use. Heres a little excerpt.

I'll let you know if I get it unlocked.

Good luck, just remember their policy says they wont, that policy was in place when you bought the phone, nothing in the policy is illegal, and so they only have to follow the policy.

That being said good luck, truly, it would be good to use as a precedence if they unlock yours.

Insulting the customer service reps is always the best tactic to get what you want. I'm sure no rep would ever put a note on your account that says you were abusive and belligerent. Yep, vinegar works better than honey.

Should have just lied and said you were going on a European cruise.

Also, have you see this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g3/general/unlock-sim-gsm-how-to-t2853594
Dude you have no idea what I've put up with from these Nazis. I didn't actually insult a person, just their stupid corporate nazi tactics. I don't lie so for you to suggest I do is actually sickening. I don't really care about carrier unlocking but it's the ethics behind why they aren't allowing it.

The ethics? The ethics are that Sprint's unlocking policy says they won't do what you're asking. There's no ambiguity in their policy. If you don't violate your policy against lying, why expect Sprint to violate their policy just to suit you?

Didn't insult anyone? Telling the CSR you'll wipe your a$$ with his policy is pretty insulting. I'd take it so, and so would most people.

You NEVER lie? Not even a little white lie to your boss? Or wife/girl/boy friend? If true, you're probably the only person on the face of the earth it's true of.

Wow bro. I actually chuckled on this one. That nice screeny. And you realize phones today are a skip to unlock. You just won't get lte but who cares hspa+ on att and hspa on tmo so why ask to unlock knowing Damn well your asking a person whom only works there for a check that follows guidelines. They can't do ****. Lol. But I admire your active eagerness to follow through. Just be prepared to be pissed way off. (or on) lol
