No problem.. Hopefully it helped.. I just thought to myself when I got the 8 that there has to be an easier way to solve this.. I may at some point end up ordering that carbon case (honestly, it's just a sweet case), but spending 50.00 on a case, for me, I have a ton of hobbies already that suck up enough money.. ;););)

The confusion was coming from you saying you cut the magnet, which is the mount part and not the part that goes into the case (which is just a metal disc) :p

You guys made this way too complicated with cutting etc. You can use the rectangle plate (bigger than the circle plate) and place it horizontally on the bottom third between your phone and the case. I have it like this in my spigen thin fit case: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B073...gen+note+8&dpPl=1&dpID=410xGjyjC+L&ref=plSrch

It stays on my magnet vent mount without any issues and wireless charging works perfectly on my CHOETECH wireless fast charger: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B010...L65&keywords=choetech+wireless+charger&psc=1. The exact middle area is where the coils are.

Huh, yeah I am now trying that with the original Scosche metal plate and this Ringke Wave Case that I got as a temporary one and it does still wireless charge. My only issue with it like this is that the strength of the magnetic car mount isn't sufficient to keep the phone from rotating unless it's balanced, which seems to require putting the metal plate in the middle of the phone (right where you say the coils are). Will have to experiment...

You might need a stronger magnet (different company). Mine doesn't move at all. I use this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01G0X56YU?psc=1&ref=yo_pop_mb_pd

I thought the original question was about Magnetic Mounting and Qi Charging at the same time. This is why I suggested XVIDA or Mophie. Apparently Pitaka also has a solution. I just didn't search their website well enough...

Just get the Pitaka case and mount and your done. Best case I have ever had. I have went through about 10 cases for the Note 8 till I got the Pitaka. It's worth the money and the wait
