Hi all,

I have been on the MM (full stock) for quite a while and for the life of me can't understand why I'm facing this stupid cell standby drain. The phone is in a reasonably good 4G coverage area (at least blocks in the signal strength) and am I'm wifi whenever possible. I don't have VoLTE nor wifi calling enabled...

I've lost count of the number of charge cycles the phone's been through but this stupid drain is the second on the hit-list right below display even after a full day's usage....

How do I get rid of this stupid drain...pls help

The location is set to wifi and mobile network and GPS is off...but yes, location is on...Are you saying if i disable location completely the cell standby will go away? Hmmmm...this should be an interesting experimentation...

I can confirm that disabling the location altogether does NOT reduce the cell standby issue. This is either a samsung modem related problem or it's inherent to MM. Any comments?

ok, I think I have found the solution and it seems to be counter intuitive...I enabled GPS (i.e. high accuracy) mode in the location setting...and guess what the cell standby went down drastically...I don't know if this is a placebo effect...anyways...I'll keep a close watch on this..
