Change device region?

Hello everyone

I have a problem... I got a Sony Tablet S as permanent test device from Sony Austria. But I live in Germany. Now it seems that these sony services VideoUnlimited and Plantation store aren't available in Austria and Android Market seems to check only an internal regional code because of missing sim card. So how can I change region of my tablet (already rooted) to get these apps officially with instant updates?

Changing build.prop didn't work because I already copied one of an German identical model onto mine.

I think its possible with the prop file. because when I had my play I used to change it to get games from Japan store

Editing the build.prop should have worked. Are you pulling the build.prop to your computer and editing it in Notepad++, then pushing it back via adb or droid explorer? Or, are you mounting /system as rw, then chmod 666 the build.prop via terminal emulator, then using script manager, edit the proper values directly on the device, saving and rebooting? If one of those isn't the method you used, then try one of those 2 and report back.

I tried editing it and I copied a complete build.prop from another Tablet S from Germany.... It didn't work

region of your tab = SKU values.
take a closer look at /configs/region.zip
but be careful, dont mess your device

you should propably easy change it
oh and remember - make backup first!!!

Yes sir I did All I wanted to say was that its possible with he prop file, because you have said that you tired and failed.

I have a sony tablet s. I want to know how to backup such that even if I mess with the system I can revert to the old state. If you mean backup the system files just in case, I can understand but I have been unable to find a way to make a complete restore backup so just wanted to ask.
