Change Navigation Bar size to 24dpi (stock-rooted ROM)

OK - this is on N4 but still.

I went with 30 dpi, everything is fine except for the back button, which is a bit larger.

Any ideas anyone?

It's not impossible but deodexed files are more easily modified. The best thing to do is flash a rom with these features included.

I went through the link you kindly supplied and have created an apk for JSS15R...

Get the apk out of the zip. and use Root Explorer to copy to \system\framework\ (After clicking set r/w)

I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU BACKUP BEFORE TRYING THIS AND ONLY DO ON A JSS15R. MY EXPERIENCE OF SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT WAS NOT GOOD.

Lord, please someone make a mod to keep the buttons on the short edge of the screen regardless of orientation. They waste so much space when on the long edge!

You could have done it the waay easier - just use GravityBox with Xposed Installer, and you will be able to change size for portrait and for landspace separately + bunch of other useful mods!

Yeah I tried editing the framework-rest.apk of my stock 4.4 I got bootloop. After pushing the edited file and setting the right permission. Good thing I have nandroid backup.

just follow the editing guide, link is on first page. after building the framework-res.apk file you need to use ROOT EXPLORER only do not use ES or other. just over write the original file. but be sure to have a nandroid backup first.

Just use my update.zip, which I posted above and replace my Framework with your apk. Then you can safely flash it in recovery.

Success!! anybody want some real estate?? With my trusty nandroid in place, I flashed this on my Flo...........and it worked great. It didn't even break my Zipthemer Zenyth white softkeys mod that I already had on there!!
