At&T doesn't care because they are backed up by a taxpayers monies (aka "Goverment"). A company like AT&T couldn't survive w/o "assistance" and would be broke a long time ago if there was a real competitor's market (aka a "capitalistic enterprise"). AT&T(and Verizon) has became a public utility company as soon as they started to dig in to the public funds. So all the loses will be covered by the taxpayers.
