Hi there, I've been wondering myself that are there any possibilities that changing the Desire HD's baseband (I am currently using 12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.26_M) to another will help improve GPS fix problem?

I've tried changing gps.conf to my nearest NTP (I live in Malaysia) from "north-america" to "my" and it does help at times but still do not produce satisfactory results. Can be fast, and can be very slow. Sometimes once lock, the positioning goes crazy again. Tried others like GPS Status etc.

Is there any Radios that you can recommend me to flash on?

By the way I am currently using a custom ROM from Android Revolution HD (i.e. version 2.0.14). I read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=840040 from mike1986

He strongly recommend that flashing either Radio_12.35d.60.140f_26.06.03.24_M2 or Radio_12.28e.60.140f_26.04.02.17_M2_SF to maximise performance, battery life etc. In the context of GPS, is this good? (If my assumption is right about changing Baseband for better GPS)

Thank you. =)

I use GPS very rarely, but I did test that I could get a position with the app "Share My Position" using these radios:
12.28e.60.140fP_26.04.02.17_M2
12.35d.60.140f_26.06.03.24_M2
EDIT: also just successfully tried: 12.28g.60.140f_26.05.05.27_M3

I didn't see any noticeable difference, but of course I don't use GPS like you are using it. In any case it only takes a couple of minutes to flash between radios so it's pretty easy to test for yourself whether or not one radio seems better than the other.

Oh yeah, if you're going to change your radio you might want to read about radio S-OFF if you don't already have that. Here are a couple of links, but there are others:
