Changing Rigtones

Hi iam using 2.3.4. stock rom, haven't rooted yet. Is there a way to use a song mp3 ect., and use it as my ringtone? Thanks.

You can download an app from the market, just search ringtone maker. It'll allow you to cut your mp3 and save it as a ringtone.

get an external sd card. after you put it in your phone, create two folders on it - one name Ringtones, and one named Notifications.
put any mp3 in the ringtone folder, and/or any sound file on the notifications folder and they will show up in the list when you try to change them on the phone.
I do this so that when I flash different roms I can just take out the sd card and use the tones on the next rom I flash.

(I think you can create the folders on the internal sd card and it would work the same way but then if you flashed any rom it may wipe them)

Thanks for the help, this worked great. Way better than downloading a app to do it!

awesome! my sister just got her i777 and i've been trying to figure out how to do that. Guess it didn't come with an SD card. Makes sense tho now that I think about it.
