Using QPST to change banner

1. Install HTC Sync if you haven't already.

2. Download MSL Reader from the market, Run it and save the code for step 8

3. Download QPST:
http://www.x-drivers.com/catalog/flash/mobile_phones/companies/qualcomm/models/qpst/12051.html
4. Install QPST software
5. Put phone into Diag mode: dial ##diag#
6. Start QPST service programming. If your phone is in diag mode you will see it listed here.
7. Click Read from phone
8. Enter your SPC number.
9. Click the Display tab.
10. Change the banner to what you want.
11. Write to phone.

Using CDMA Workshop to change the Sprint banner.

What to change Sprint to something else? Well here is how. This is a rough guide, maybe I'll get ambitious and spruce it up when I have some more time...

Install HTC Sync if you haven't already..
Get it here.
http://www.htc.com/www/SupportViewNews.aspx?dl_id=933&news_id=631

Gonna need the HTC Diag drivers, least I did... these work fine:
http://rapidshare.com/files/293529424/HTC_Hero_DIAG_Drivers.zip

To get CDMA Workshop you are gonna have to use your favorite torrent search or whatever to get a cracked version....

Enter DIAG mode, dial ##diag#, let windows install the drivers...most likely it won't find the HTC DIAG drivers, but they are in the link above... get it installed.

Now in CDMA workshop, you really don't want to be effin' with stuff you aren't sure what it is... but we are here to change the banner right? riight so don't be changing anything else and you'll be a-ok.

Select your port, hit connect, hit read... goto the NAM tab...hit Read ...change the Banner from "Sprint" to whatever..hit "Write".... then you can reboot the phone and its done.

To find your port...

Select your port, hit connect then hit read. (picture shows disconnect...I already hit connect..so yah.

Goto the NAM tab, hit read, change the banner, hit write. Reboot your phone

Enjoy!

LOL Same. I went on the hunt for a newer version and this one will give you that tab.
WOW I can't believe that a version change of 2.7.215 to 2.7.323 makes such a huge difference. It made a huge amount of newer tabs appear, and the Display tab is there, too. I wish I downloaded the 323 version before I decided to torrent the 215 version.

Gah.

Thanks, you saved me from another 3 hours of frustration.

You shouldn't have to hit the call button. At the last # it should take you right into diag mode. More then likely it is the rom you are using not letting you in.
Yeah I think it's 2.2... I can't find anything on the internet with the diag codes for froyo either, and I like it too much to downgrade just for the banner.

Here is a simple method, Download the HTC Diag Drivers, search for them.
Download CDMAWS from www.cdma-ware.com
Just download the demo.

Go to the phone dial ##Diag#, send. This enters DIAG mode, install the drivers. *Note the comport. You might have to change this so search on how to change comport numbers.

Launch the demo of CDMAWS, select correct comport, go to security, read SPC, Send SPC.
Then go to the NAM Tab and where it says BANNER, write what you want to appear. Go back to Main Tab click mode reset, then disconnect.
Do you download the demo to your phone or your PC?
