I used the CDMA method, and yes it worked system wide.So does this change things system wide? Like pulling down the notification bar it will say something else instead of Sprint..on the call screen, etc?

Did this, it did the write successfully, rebooted, still have the Sprint banner. What to change Sprint to something else? Well here is how. This is a rough guide, maybe I'll get ambitious and spruce it up when I have some more time...
Install HTC Sync if you haven't already..
Get it here.

Gonna need the HTC Diag drivers, least I did... these work fine:

To get CDMA Workshop you are gonna have to use your favorite torrent search or whatever to get a cracked version....
Enter DIAG mode, dial ##diag#, let windows install the drivers...most likely it won't find the HTC DIAG drivers, but they are in the link above... get it installed.
Now in CDMA workshop, you really don't want to be effin' with stuff you aren't sure what it is... but we are here to change the banner right? riight so don't be changing anything else and you'll be a-ok.
Select your port, hit connect, hit read... goto the NAM tab...hit Read ...change the Banner from "Sprint" to whatever..hit "Write".... then you can reboot the phone and its done.
Ok so going into diag all the numbers are 0, see nothing about comports..should be something right? Open CDMAWS, port 4 works. Security>SPC>read ...Got "failed." What's going wrong?1. Install HTC Sync if you haven't already.
2. Follow these instructions up to read SPC and write down that number... you will need it later.
3. Download QPST:
http://www.x-drivers.com/catalog/flash/mobile_phones/companies/qualcomm/models/qpst/12051.html
4. Install QPST software
5. Put phone into Diag mode: dial ##diag#
6. Start QPST service programming. If your phone is in diag mode you will see it listed here.
7. Click Read from phone
8. Enter your SPC number.
9. Click the Display tab.
10. Change the banner to what you want.
11. Write to phone.
12. Reboot phone and you will see the new banner.
CDMAWS is were the ports comes into play. If you choose 4 and it fails then its not using port 4. I had to change what my windows was using for one of the ports that you can use in the demo. I believe its 1,2,3, or 4 and if they are all being used by windows then you have to free one up.Ok so going into diag all the numbers are 0, see nothing about comports..should be something right? Well I made progress, got it to connect to port five. But when opening QPST it doesn't show my phone so stuck there. Did diag and that screen is running on my phone before opening QPST Service Programming.CDMAWS is were the ports comes into play. If you choose 4 and it fails then its not using port 4.
