Charging speed

I would not worry about quick charge killing your battery.
Used quick charge in my car, and at home, and portable battery pack on my Zenfone 2 for 1.5 years , I couldnt tell you if there is a difference from day one. That phone lasted daily from day one. Made me regret buying all those QC devices actually. Only reason why I retired it is how painfully slow the camera was and I got bored of it.

Hello :)
Question: is QC3 a killer of battery? Is charging at low amp better, or...? Cuz I read here and there that it's still better to use a slow speed charging device so that the battery doesn't heat up and doesn't wear off too fast.
What are your thoughts about that?
For Maximum life battery should be kept between %20 and %80 at all times. Quick Charge has a logic chip which slows down the rate of charging after %80 so QC impact on battery life is minimal. Best thing yo can do to maximize battery life is to make a habit of plugging it in before going to sleep

My Axon 7 USA version took sweet 1 hr 30 min to charge from 0 to 100%
In between I had 5 to 7 mins on screen with whatsapp chat and 2 mins whatsapp call.
I got this mobile 3 days back..
Is this the typical charge time or is my device defective?

Hello,
From 0 to 100%, 1h30 to charge is pretty fast and I think totally normal. Like thohac said, the charger slows down the charge after 80%, so it's really fast from 0% to 80% and then "normal" charge after.
QC3.0 is really nice, you have 60% of battery in about half an hour.
Oh, don't go lower than 10% with the phone. Below that you might brick your battery, and you won't be able to charge it anymore.

Thanks for the suggestion..
I was scared if it was defective..
I'll never got below 10% as u said.
Thank you

I use Ampere to test my charge speed. And use any cable and power supply which Google employee Benson Leung tests as compatible with USB-C specs (link to a spreadsheet someone on Reddit keeps up-to-date with Benson's tests). Benson is well known in the Android community because he leaves comments on chargers and cables he buys on Amazon of his test results and the press coverage and fixes vendors do to get their act together.

So far, the speeds I've seen on various charging technologies over the years are around 500mA, then 1000mA and with a proper USB-C cable and charger around 3000+mA.

That should cover all of the charging knowledge you need :)

I measured some different charge cycles. I get approximately 50% charge in 40 minutes. I noticed that the battery charges faster when it is initially low (15-30%) but takes exponentially longer to fill once it's reached >85%. I'll try to post an update with a detailed log of the times and charge levels.

i'm using A2017G B08
i have noticed inaccuracy with my battery indicator
when i'm charging (quick/normal charge) yhe battery level increased very slowly
a reboot is needed to display the correct battery level all the time
anybody experienced similar bug/problem? any potential solution?

I did and turned out to be hardware fault. I had to RMA it.
