TEST on Nokia Lumia 800: 7.10.8107.79

Not working. Still says trouble connecting to the device.message.

Any suggestions?
What is the update on the tokens situation?

yeah you are right. it works on my hTc 7 pro 1gen. device. with A nodo ROM i think all before 7720 you can unlock with chevron. i managed it with 7392 7004 7008... but i am not sure about the 7720.

all the magic is the time and date :D all you need is to date your phone to last year before november i think, so september august june july... and so with you PC. (and set the same time thats important ) :)

Umm... 7389, 7390, and 7392 can't be unlocked with the original ChevronWP7 tool. They won't allow the use of a user-installed certificate (i.e. the cert you install as part of the whole process) during unlocking. I would be *extremely* surprised if you actually managed in on 7392 with a stock ROM.

Well, i read all the 111 pages of this topic. Tried all the tips. Nothing worked. I have a Samsung Omnia 7 with Nodo 7004. I was about to give up. Then I tried a last attempt:

- c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts (not read-only)
- Phone in Airplane mode
- Turn off internet connection on pc
- Set the date on pc to 1-10-2011
- Set the phone date to 1-10-2011
- Turn on internet connection on pc
- Ajust the hour in both
- Connect phone to pc
- Open Zune (if not started)
- Wait until it detects phone
- Run WP7Chevron as Administrator

BINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe I was lucky...

Yow, that was a lot of effort... why not just use Windowbreak? It's a lot faster, doesn't require rolling back to build 700X, applies interop-unlock at the same time (max unsigned apps), applies don't-relock at the same time, and works just fine on your model of phone.

i managed it on 7392. i had an 7004 stock rom, updated then to 7008 then 7392 and then applied the unlock from chevron. on my htc 7 pro work it to 7392. but now i have no worries any more :) i have a new tech rom from ansar that keeps the unlock after a hard reset!!! updateable and just the perfect thing :)

That's... *really* weird. The security bug that the original unlocker used was patched well before 7392. It should have behaved as though you forgot to install the certificate, because from the unlocker's perspective, you never did install it (the fix was to prevent the use of user-installed certificates for unlocking).

You're asking whether a bug that was patched almost a year before the Titan came out can be used to dev-unlock the Titan? Umm... good luck with that!

Regarding the camera settings translations:

If I copy the xml file with portuguese translation on 7004 version, and then do all the updates to 8107 throug Zune, that file stays on the phone after those updates?

Thank you all.

Yeah of course it can. Have you not searched the thread or Google'd at all?!

Just send me a PM with a video of you bashing your head off a brick wall and I'll be happy to send you a ZIP with a simple one-click EXE which will not only unlock your Nokia Lumia 710 but will install a Cydia app so you can play iPhone games on it too!

Start by actually doing even a little research, perhaps. The original ChevronWP7 Unlocker hack was patched about a year ago. Any phone with NoDo (build 7389) or later shouldn't be able to use it at all. Additionally, the certificate it used (did you even grab the cert?) expired a few months back.

ChevronWP7 Labs (http://labs.chevronwp7.com) would work on your Lumia, but they're currently sold out of unlock "tokens" and MS doesn't seem inclined to hurry with getting them more.

Please tell me you at least realized @pLUSpISTOL was being sarcastic... and seriously, try doing a *little* reading on the subject before go wasting people's time repeatedly asking questions with widely-known answers.

As people may know, Chevron have removed their unlocker download for WP7 :( so I thought I'd archive it and make it available for everyone here still:

    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JY0ZFVKD

EDIT: Thanks to Cendaryn we also have the required security certificate :) - the easiest way (thanks to Talys) to install the cert and unlock your WP7 is to do as follows:

    1. Unzip file, and attach chevronwp7.cer (see below for file) to an e-mail to yourself
    2. Open email in WP7
    3. Tap attachment once, turns it into a shield, tap it again, goes to install certificate screen with white letters on black screen
    4. Click install at the bottom

    5. Make sure registry is modified:

    Code:
     [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsPhone\ProxyPorts]“DeviceReg”=dword:000069C5
I think the WP7 developer tools from MS does this, but you can add it in manually (it's a 32bit DWORD)

    6. Plug in phone and leave Zune running
    7. Run chevronwp7.exe, click both checkboxes
    8. Click unlock

Excellent video tutorial here thanks to Jaxbot

    Possible solution to Chevron problems.

    Hello to all!

I think, I've finally found the reason why Chevron almost never works. After a few days of struggle, I managed to successfully unlock my HD2 three times in a row, all by the same trick.
The idea is to change the IP which Chevron emulates DURING the process of jailbreak. Here's step-by-step.

1 - Disable LAN card in your PC (Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections\ right click on "Local Area Connection" and choose "disable"). It is very important to disable ALL connections, but you MUST remember which one is used for Internet access (see below, why).

2 - Do all the standard steps of unlock - install certificate, start WPConnect e.t.s. When Chevron fails to unlock - LEAVE IT OPEN.

    3. Start Notepad and open hosts. Delete lines added by Chevron (at the bottom). Save. LEAVE NOTEPAD OPEN.

    4. Press Win+R and enter IPConfig /flushdns , press "enter". CMD window will blink for a second - that's normal.

    5. Press Win+R again (there will be IPConfig /flushdns typed already), but DO NOT PRESS "ENTER", just leave this window open.

    6. Now the trick. Start WPConnect. WHILE it connects, continue to repeatedly press "Unlock" button in Chevron, until the black CMD window of WPconnect disappears. Chevron will fail to do its job, but that's in fact is the very thing we need.

    7. Now, do not touch Chevron window, just return to Network Connections and ENABLE yor LAN card.

    8. Go to Notepad and JUST CLICK "Save", do not alter anything inside.

    9. Return to the window with the typed command IPConfig /flushdns . Press Enter.

    10. Start WPConnect, WAIT until it disappears, and press "Unlock" button in Chevron. You're done - this time unlock would work.

At least, it worked for me 3 times in a row, while NO other ways worked.

    Best regards - Draco.

P.S. If you have firewall - disable it before doing anything.

P.P.S. Win7 from NAND + MDJ Desire HD 4.4 from SD = best phone in the world :)

so who saved the .cert on his pc ?

aaahm.... I guess I have something for you :)

    Succeeded

Okay so here is *everything* I did to succeed in re-unlocking my Samsung Focus

    1. Have Winphone developer tools installed
    2. Connect Phone via USB
    3. Wait till zune starts and sync completes
    4. Verify that zune is not in a guest relationship
    5. open a command prompt, type netstat -a to confirm that port 443 is not being used
    6. open an admin command prompt, navigate to c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\ then type notepad hosts and delete any references to windowsphone developer services
    7. go to the settings on the phone and turn airplane mode on (so that the phone is forced to use internet via zune)
    8. While the phone is still on the settings page, run Chevron with admin privileges

    And it worked!

If you are having issues, you should also make sure that your machine isn't running anything that may be using port 443 (including IIS, Skype, etc)
