Oh yes, I hope we get more information regarding this soon :D Been scouring the interwebs for detailed specifications.
Specifically whether or not the CC2 uses a newer SoC with built in AC or still uses the same Armada 1500-Mini with a tacked on AC solution.

It's still has Marvell inside as Marvell has tweeted about the Chromecast 2 being released.
The other Marvell SoC that could be used is the Armada 1500 Plus.

But I think this thing would be a "tad" too powerful and expensive for Google to use for a 35$ thingydoodler.
I could be wrong though.

As the original Chromecast used the 88DE3005, a cut down single core version of the 88DE3100 (which was inside Google TV (E: the 2nd gen)).

By the way, Capt. The original Chromecast's SoC (88DE3005 which was a cutdown 88DE3100) used Marvell's PJ4B custom core, not an off-the-shelf Cortex-A9. It was compatible with Cortex-A9 though.

Strange, I would have expected Google would mention this big difference in the marketing of the CC2.
Exactly my thought. Why didn't they mention that it has dual cores.
Not a lot of people care. And it's not that big of a deal for this kind of device.
And the primary aspect of Chromecast at least to me is video. And that's pretty much off-loaded somewhere else.. Audio doesn't require much either..
I'll make a wild guess that the 1500 Mini Plus still uses the same Vivante GC1000 as the 1500 Mini used.

Hey Folks can anyone confirm my Feeling, that there is no 24p Stuttering anymore and the Picture Quality is sharper (especially at Netflix and HBO NOW)? My Movies and Shows are very smooth, sharp and without any stuttering.

Very sharp, it's really impressive the work that the new Chromecast make with Netflix, and in my country the internet service is not that good and the image quality its great!
