Upgrading my rom (Slimbean 3.1.0) to its most current version. My current ver of Android is 4.1.2, the newer rom is 4.2.x.

I have a different Kernel & Modem then stock. I installed those at the same time during my last rom install (all at once). Do I need to re-install them again this time? From what I know (i think), the Kernel & Baseband are independent of the OS rom. Does this mean they stay put if I format the system in recovery mode prior to flashing the new rom.

Also is there a preference of order in flashing when starting from scratch (ex: Rom first, the modem then kernel, or vise versa)?

Thanks.

The modem should stick but you'll need to re flash the kernel whoever you flash a new rom.
Normally I would just flash the rom alone unless gapps are required and then boot the phone, then go back any kernel or new modems, but your way should be fine.
