CleanEclair 1.6.2 based on 2.03 - no HTC Sense - some more space.

I installed 1.61, and got stuck with the boot loop (super circle probably).
I tought I was covered by my Rom Manager backups but how do you restore them when you're stuck on a boot loop.
I managed to get out of it but I'll go for nandroid from now on.

... And unfortunatly the sync problem is still there
I completly wiped the phone (several times), I even formatted the sd in case something on it trigger the problem.
Anyone else still experiencing this little bugger?

Uhm too many boot loop connected to battery mod.

Can you send me the logcat of the boot loop? I need to investigate into that.
Can you tell me what version you came from (before the update), what battery mod did you applied and when (before 1. 6.1 or after)?

About your sync problem send me the logcat too.

I love this rom, but I too want to replace the SMS-app with the stock one. Can't I just grab the mms.apk and click 'n drag it into the zip-file? Removing the mms.apk from it first? Or will this mess something up? :S

I love the icon on the Eclair-SMSapp though, wish there was some way keeping the original sms-app, but replace the png

Long time flasher (ROM that is), first time poster.

I flashed 1.6.2 through Rom Manager using option D for the battery mod.

My device then went into a loop on booting.

No assistance required, just reporting.

EDIT - Same occurred when flashing 1.6.2 with option C Battery Mod. Logcat ouput, such as it is, is at hxxp://pastebin.ca/1924154

I removed most of htc application and them may be connected each other, try to install FriendStream (take it from the topic with 2.03 deodexed apks) and let's see what happens

Thanks for the log, but it seems to be missing the part where it crashes and loop. Usually looks like this:

Thanks i'm trying to figure out what creates troubles with certificates...

Ok the problem is on framework-res.apk certificates..but why on some works and some other not?

Sorry i don't understand, you want HTC SMS app or Original Android SMS app?

If you want HTC SMS, go here and download the zip, extract and get mms.apk, remove mms_orig.apk from /system/app folder and put there mms.apk

If you want Handcent you can download it from Market and you want to completeli remove original vanilla SMS you can remove mms_orig.apk.

Ah, thanks a lot! I wanted the HTC SMS-app (dunno how the original works, but the HTC one works quite well!)

I tried to replace the mms.apk in the zip file, and since I wanted the original calculator and camrecorder as well, I tried replacing those apk's as well (your apks might work good as well, but it looks kinda silly with my country's language in the entire phone, and with an english "camrecorder" and "calcualtor". Yes, I'm a perfectionist )

However, the installation failed. I guess I cannot just replace the apk's as I want :/ (Removed the calculator_CM.apk, and renamed the calculator.apk to calculator_CM.apk as well, maybe that messed it up..)

Btw, the clock in this release gives me a FC when I try to click on dock settings within the program. Am I the only one?

I have some troubles lately with this rom, when I go on Market with my wifi on and connected, my mobile wants to connect trough mobile network, even when this option is turned off in the settings. Have anybody else experienced this?

Ok now I have a question for you Lyka, if you have any intenisons and of course time to update this rom? I'm really satisfied at the moment with this one. But it would be great to see Clean eclair based on this new rom 2.10.xxx, and maybe with some custom kernel, wich would enable us under and overclocking. Nevertheless this rom is just great .
