When replacing my battery on my S8 plus, I decided to do a jerryrigeverything mod on my phone. It was actually relatively easy and I did a few things different to jerryrigeverything listed below.
1)I kept my wireless charging on
2)Removed any unnecessary plastics that did not contribute to the overall functionality of the device, including cutting around the antennas (the silver lines on the top)
3)Brought the official adhesive used to stick the back glass to the device, fingerprint scanner and camera lens
I've done this because I have had my phone for over 2 years now so warranty wasn't a concern. There are a few risks to doing this though:
-Your phone isn't exactly IP68 rated anymore, however using the official adhesive, my phone has survived many rainy days so far, especially with the recent heavy rain/hail storms in East England.
-Thermal performance may be worse, depending if you want to hide or show the heat sink (on the center left in the pic)
-Also, you can potentially damage any components when doing this.
-One major risk I am yet to experience yet is that the back glass when shattered is usually held on by the plastic colour thing but without it, the glass would just spread everywhere. One way to minimise this risk is to actually use a case like rhinoshield's bumper case which I am using atm.
If you want to do this, just check out some videos on youtube on how to do it, unlike some of them I just used a hair dryer and some prying tools to peel off the colour and I did the modifications to my specification, but remember this is RISKY.
