I have been given a clone of something like a mid range Samsung called an ALPS M10. The 5.1 Android seems to be a rip-off as in recovery mode it is in Chinese. It is also infected and AVG can't sort it. I want to install a new OS.
I've used tools like TWERP and recovery mode to install a new Android ROM before but this requires knowing the model of phone. In this case there is no TWERP for anything called ALPS (who are a major Chinese maker btw).
Any advice please on how to go about this? Ideally I'd like to totally wipe the whole rom and start again but have never heard of this being done!
