How do you apply this and what roms does it work with?

it works with all roms. im on cm7 and it works fine.

download file and use root explorer and replace it in the system/media folder make sure to tap the top right to allow permissions to overwrite previous bootanimation.zip

and reboot and your done

I love trying out random boot animations. So I downloaded this one without even previewing it. It made me laugh pretty hard though.

Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App

could it be because I am running on SD card build rather NAND ?
Using CM7 Ginger 2.3.3 .... The CM7 Blue Android is VERY FAST (not lagging as this)

any ideas how to improve it?

BTW, got HD2

since your dual booting the speed depends on your class of sd card.

hilarious! My new boot animation! But, is there a way to make the background solid black? This makes things really POP on the N1's OLED screen.

Hello, I have hd2 and Android 2.3.2. on it. I was wondering how i change this bootscreen because when I try to use different programs for putting the bootanimation folder to the media folder, it does not let me to do it. It says could not be done. What I am doing wrong? I have rooted version of Android.

Here you go, I edited the original found in the OP. Nothing else changed, just a solid black background.

Edit: I know there is a size difference... shrug. I am new to this, lol.

i've tried to do it but i have a small issue withn my Galaxy S i9000.
I've updated to gingerbread, and there are in the /system/media two boot animation files
one is named bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg i did mange to copy the bootanim.zip to /system/media and nothing i've renamed it to bootsamsung.qmg and nothing happened, i hope that i am clear with my problem as you can see my english is not that good :)

Hm, I've never tried to replace the bootscreen for a Galaxy S device. Try backing up those two Samsung files, then deleting them, then putting the bootanimation.zip in there.

Edit: What ROM are you using? Stock/Rooted, or a custom ROM/Rooted?
