Has anyone met that when visiting sites through a browser (in my case, Firefox or forks), you get an HTTPS (port 443) request from the root user (UID=0)?

How can the request from root be explained?
---

Встречал ли кто, что при посещении сайтов через браузер (в моём случае Firefox или форки) у вас появляется HTTPS (443 порт) запрос от пользователя root (UID=0)?

Как можно объяснить запрос от root?

Thank all of you for your efforts and any suggestions to my issue. Using Github version, set up only to block ads. Blocking works as expected on WiFi, but not working on cellular with WiFi disabled. Everything is default except necessary configuration changes for ad blocking. All suggestions are welcome. Thank you.

You can, but given the limited support for the project, despite millions of people using the app, there won't be any new features anymore. Bugs will be fixed and the necessary changes for new Android versions will be done though.
What about a paid subscription for any additional features? I would gladly pay for this as I already paid for the github pro version

There are already subscriptions available, but there are less than a handful of people having a subscription.
I didn't know there is a subscription-based solution! I cannot find it even know that I heard of that. Where can I see it? Maybe not enough people know about that. Maybe there is a way to make it more appealing! I'm not an expert but one who knows about marketing can give some good tips.

Marketing won't help. It was mentioned here a while ago, not that it made much difference.

Mandatory? Do you have any idea how many people would complain? My inbox would "explode" !
You are probably right, unfortunately. But at some point people would need to understand that they cannot expect that somebody would hard work on long term just for fun. Anyway I saw that is a current trend during last years that most of quality apps shift from one payment to subscription based. You cannot pleased all the people anyway!

All my public projects are meant to help people protect their privacy, and not to earn money. Therefore, all essential features are free to use, but this also means that I am free whether I want to work on these projects as well. For both of these reasons, I don't want to commercialize things.

Regarding NetGuard, I have received so many unfriendly messages, many very rude, that I am not motivated to work on new features anymore. The app will keep being maintained and supported, which means that major bugs will be fixed and that the app will be adapted for new Android versions, if necessary.

Stupid or just ignorant people are everywhere, I know is very frustrating but we cannot do anything else but to ignore them!

Five years or so ago, this was not a problem, but the world has changed and now there are so many condescending people, that it isn't fun to work on a project like this anymore, also considering the general support for the project, or rather the absence of it. The "mix" just isn't right anymore.

Maybe you cannot see it here in the thread but I recently tried a few different similar apps and I found out that are many people saying in different forums and social media like reddit that your app is superior to all the rest. I personally consider the same after testing all the other apps.

I think if the spy companies want to win the battle against privacy, they hire people and they write a nasty letter to Marcel. How simple and effective :~(

Please report any problems you encounter.

It would be nice if someone could design an appropriate icon.
