So I guess I'm having the same problems as others. Since yesterday I'm getting play protect errors on google apps. Is fixing this going to require a full wipe/reset or can it be done non destructively?
I've attached the errors and versions. The phone has been great for over a year since I first put google on it.
Happy for any help!!

Thanks badmania98 - I skipped the first one mainly because I dont know spanish! - the second tut seems to have worked for now. I'll keep an eye on it, if it goes wrong I'll be in touch for a proper fix!

Downgrade in one step from the last version of EMUI, to install GMS ( P40Pro C432 with EMUI version (is lower than) < 11.0.0.260):

This method should be used just in case a downgrade from original HiSuite is not possible/available.


You have to follow the below tutorial + next remarks:
a. uninstall your original HiSuite from computer and phone;

b1 install attached HiSuite 11 on computer and connect the phone to computer. HiSuite app will be installed on the phone. Do not upgrade HiSuite. It will ask for it.;
b.2 Disconnect phone from computer and uninstall HiSuite11 from computer (only). Do not touch HiSuite app from phone.
b.3 install attached HiSuite10 on computer. Do not connect the phone to computer. Do not upgrade HiSuite. It will ask for it. Phone will be connected to computer just after you already set attached Proxy app and start HiSuite 10 on the phone.

c. you should have free space on your computer for download the needed files( minimum 6-8 GB free on partition C:, NTFS format);

d. your phone must have the battery charged 100%;

e. after downgrade you will lose Fast Charge and connection to computer via USB cable;

f. after you install GMS, upgrade Over the Air (from phone menu) several times to the last version of EMUI, where you will get back Fast Charge and connection to computer via USB cable;

g. Pay attention to the files that you use/download from https://www.firmfinder.ml/ or https://professorjtj.github.io/
In this tutorial it is presented just a case. Do not use the same files for every phone model or region. I can help you to choose the right files. Just let me know.

h. Dont downgrade to an intermediate firmware version.

i. HiSuite 10.1.0.550 = is no red icon on the desktop. Red icon is on HiSuite11 only. After you press setup you will start HiSuite10 from original icon.

On P40 Pro C432 use 10.1.0.121.

Hi just a quick question mate, I have done the downgrade a couple of times on my p40 Pro els-n29 c432 firmware version, but for some reason firm finder. Ml will not load on my laptop now? So am unable to link the files with the hisuite proxy, any advice? I sent phone back for Warranty repair and they wiped and updated to newest emui bastards

hi again i have tried both hisuites mangaged to get links to the correct firmware ovs cust and preload setup says ready in proxy when i hit update in hisuite says using latest emui which is 11.0.0.208 im lost at what to do can i not downgrade ? wish i just put up witha broken camera lol help apericiated

Firmware finder app also not helping, "Most likely the firmware was removed from the server".

Please help me to get it to EMUI 11 to get back fast charging and PC connectivity. At this point I stopped caring for GMS, I'll just use the phone as is for a few months and then get something with Google Certification.

I've got a 256GB USB and a OTG USB-A to USB-C cable.

Try to go through Support app from app gallery (or My Huawei if you updated it). There is Support tab, scroll down and click More > its bit hidden, you have to scroll down a bit on right part of screen. Pick Update (bottom left, I have it translated so not sure if it is called that in eng version) and try to update that way. It usually works...

I forgot to mention that I also tried that, but to no success. It just brings me to the standard software update in the settings and says that I'm up to date. Thanks for the tip though!

Hey man, first of all thank you for supporting people like this, means a lot really (I know how frustrating it can get after trying 100 times and no results)

I had everything working fine until few days ago when I reset my google account password because I am an idiot...

For whatever reason I did a factory reset on my phone, now I have:
Huawei P40 Pro
ELS-NX9
Build: 11.0.0.234 (C185E6R4P4)

I successfully downgraded to correct build in the past and managed to run Google services with no issues but for whatever reason I am now getting following error when trying to revert to needed build with OTG Update method:

"Software install failed!
Incompatability with current vesion.
Please download the correct update package."

There is a tutorial for resetting your Google account, in case you change your passwords ...
There was no need for a reset.
Next time ask before doing nonsense.
Maybe our mate @ badmania98 will be able to fix you ...

Whom ever said about trying with a VPN you are a legend my friend absolute legend back with gms also have the hey Google working guys I'd be lost with out you thanks so much

Also @badmania98 you beautiful bastard I DID it!!!! I finally did it following one of your videos! I used HiSuite method instead but I see supercharging option is now lost. I recall seeing somewhere here that we can fix that too, any pointers?

What I am asking is, do I need to update the phone now automatically or manually to get the supercharger back?
