Did you read the thread's title?
It's discontinued because it softbricked people's devices when installing OTAs with TWRP, just use lineage recovery (and it tells you to do so on the wiki)
And btw your bootloader isn't fully unlocked (carefully read unlocking instructions again and you'll hopefully see why).
Afraid I didn't find the wiki.

  1. Would a current Lineage recovery still be usable with current, rooted, stock A11 (e.g., P610XXU2DUK1)?
  2. If yes, what would the link be (for a current valid TWRP)?
  3. Expect it to still be valid for A12?

Thanks!

i use the lineafe recovery on several devices and no problems. with twrp I always had problems with the ota (lineage) not with all devices but now and then. Of course, nothing broke, you may have to reinstall the software.

if you want to use your original samasung software you don't necessarily have to change a recovery to root. but i would change to lineage if you are already ready - runs very well and stable and not as full of garbage as the one from samsung

Pity but not exist working TWRP for A11 yet. Problem with data.
Any particular issue with data? I'm running my S6 Lite P610 with the latest A11 2DUK1 firmware with Magisk V23 and a new (12/23/2021) TWRP build by @afaneh92 ; best I can tell everything is functioning okay. I'll post the sequence later, if Afaneh doesn't (very simple, able to do the root-in-place by flashing magisk through TWRP).

Have to wait to see if the dev is willing to release it. I understand why they may choose not to, though my use case (TWRP/root of stock, OTA disabled) is likely safe.

I tested a couple of individual partition backup/restores, no issues.

Hi, could you provide use some info about the thread where you get this TWRP version? Thanks in advance!

I didn't obtain it via an XDA thread. Unfortunately this TWRP can cause problems for people who don't disable OTA updates while it's installed, so it won't be generally released.

    FAQ

How to boot into Download mode
    1. Turn off the tablet
    2. Press and hold volume down and volume up
    3. Connect the tablet to a computer via USB cable

How to boot in recovery mode
    1. Turn off the tablet
    2. Press and hold volume up and power until bootloader logo appears

    How to flash TWRP
    1. Unlock the tablet's bootloader
      • Backup all your data as unlocking will factory reset your tablet!
      • Enable developer options and enable OEM unlock option there
      • Boot into download mode (you have to do it like described above, with adb reboot download the unlock option won't be available!)
      • Long press volume up to unlock your device
      • Go through initial setup again after unlock. You must connect to WiFi but can skip everything else.
      • Confirm that bootloader is actually unlocked (OEM unlock option grayed out and telling you it's already unlocked in developer options)
    2. Boot into download mode
    3. Flash twrp.img.tar (or twrp.img if you use heimdall) from TWRP download page using Odin/Heimdall.

    Thanks for making this possible.
I assume you have to rename the twrp.img to recovery.tar using 7zip, and flash it with the AP option in Odin, right?

Flashing failed, i get this log in Odin:
    <ID:0/008> Added!!
    <ID:0/008> Odin engine v(ID:3.1401)..
    <ID:0/008> File analysis..
    <ID:0/008> Total Binary size: 67 M
    <ID:0/008> SetupConnection..
    <ID:0/008> Initialzation..
    <ID:0/008> Get PIT for mapping..
    <ID:0/008> Firmware update start..
    <ID:0/008> NAND Write Start!!
    <ID:0/008> SingleDownload.
    <ID:0/008> twrp-3.4.0-0-gta4xlwifi.img
    <ID:0/008> Unassigned file
    <ID:0/008> Complete(Write) operation failed.
    <OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)

You have to rename the twrp.img to recovery.img and add it to a .tar archive using e.g 7zip, I'll also add that to the FAQ

@Linux4, are you planning to add support for data encryption in future releases?

I'd like to add that (though only for AOSP FBE, not Samsung's encryption on stock) and already experimented a bit with it but it's still not working correctly.
