BatStock-Kernel V1.2.0:
- Based on latest AQF7 release
- Updated ramdisk to AQF7
- Updated Linux to 4.4.74
- ext4: fix data exposure after a crash (which should maybe fix the random reboots)
- Updated included camera binaries

Download V1.2.0
Private mod cannot be enabled on this kernel. Could you please add this feature. I tested couple of other kernels and it's working fine with then. I'm on renovate ice 118r

random reboot

Hi there , after CLEAN install ( wipe everything etc ) the phone randomly reboots...
dont know why, someone posted something about wifi, but the post is deleted now.

I can force the reboot via installing any software in goog play. (thats the only connection if found out)
Sometimes it just randoms reboots and it takes a while until the boot loop stops.

Same issue - getting random reboots. More likely because of Google Playstore installing apps. Turning off wifi will pause Google Playstore installation/downloads.

I will disable f2fs in next build and let you test this, I think I get an idea why this is happening

BatStock-Kernel V1.2.2:
- Reverted an alarmtimer update which could have broken some deepsleep things
- Added support for private mode
- Updated linux to 4.4.76
- Added stock init file (without being patched for f2fs, means f2fs won't work right now) to see if that has something to do with continous bootloops

If you are having trouble with booting, that would possibly mean you have a problem with corrupted blocks, which means you have to wipe data and uset his kernel. I really hope to fix those reboots, please let me know how it goes!

Hi there, i would like to thank you for your FAST an FREE support !

i am testing the new kernel for some hours now and no random reboots i did try to install uninstall around 20 apps and there were no reboots at all. ( just dirty flashed new kernel and everything was working )
I will do some more testing as it happened sometimes while running long youtube videos and i didnt have the time to run some of them now, but i woulde say that the reboots are "solve for now"

once again thank you :good:

Sweet thanks! I did have a concern also. With batstock rom 1.0 when I install all is well, but when I go to install apps from the SD card it says app not installed with a triangle. Why would that be?
That is due to the wipe option. It somehow damages the data partition. If you flash the rom with dirty flash after you choose wipe, format data, 'yes' it will work
    You did it again :D
PS: by "samsung security related configs disabled" you mean that we can use Secure Folder now ?
Nope. Samsung has fixed this bug from the S7.
And most likely they will patch the s7 soon as well so we won't be able to use it.
On the s7 it was: hmmm kernel gives me no result, I think that means successfull passed.
    Pretty stupid [emoji23]

nice to see the first kernel for our s8

just wondering not sure what kernel i was using on my s7 edge but the dev enabled a setting to let you make screen a bit brighter in settings you could only use it for so long then it went back to normal any chance you could look at this when you get some time thanks
You mean the outdoor mode. That's not related to kernel but to the rom you are using :)

Hell yeah! Phone feels great after flashing and for the first time since I got the device, there is no framerate drops when unlocking using my fingerprint. The animation/transition is super smooth now. Thank you!
    Thanks man!
