Xiaomi Mi 9 SE global group ?
Yes, got kicked after replying to the toxic behavior of the owner of the group ?
I'm still on the developers group tho (grus_dev, kernel brickers, etc) so not completely gone from the telegram ?
Ooooh. Thank goodness! I thought you completely left because I think someone said you've sold your device.
Anyway... It's Great to know you're still here. ?

I hope to see you on Q, SOON! ???

Hi, for some reason the connection speed counter stopped working after this update.
Any thoughts?

Thanks

Hey Okita. After flashing 8.4 on crDroid 5.8 I'm noticing that I've begun to lose coverage to one of my SIM cards. Since I haven't done anything else, coult this be because of the kernel?

Greetings okitavera,

i'm struggling with downgrading my phone from the Q back to some Android P xiaomi.eu ROM due to ridiculously high battery drain and weak WiFi. May i ask you what xiaomi.eu weekly ROM you would suggest to use with your latest Kernel (8.4 at the time i write this) for maximum battery life and an overall bug-free experience when it comes to WiFi and the well-known Bluetooth bugs? Unfortunately i'm not sure if I should stick with 9.9.3 or if it's okay to still use MIUI 11.

Hello
Latest MIUI 11 (Android Pie) is okay. But if you want battery-life, stable rom is better since it has less debugs flags that wasting CPU resources.
But you need more tweaks especially in the kernel manager if you want better battery-life since the default preset is pretty balanced
You can ask @pengus77 (kowalski kernel developer) for that battery-life enhancement since he knows better about that departments than me

Thank you for your insights. I will give the stable a try, but i recently read the MIUI 11 Stable ROM also has the Bluetooth bug. It's like, if you deactivate Bluetooth, you need to reboot the phone to switch it on again.

Okitavera, could you please provide me with your 8.2 kernel?
It doesn't seem to be downloadable anymore.
It worked best for my usage (balance of performance and battery life)

[ROM] RevolutionOS-MIUI 10.31 for Mi 9 SE

Be careful .

10.31 + root with Magisk manager = OK than + "Okitavera's Kernel for Mi 9 SE - v8.4" = FASTBOOT

Solution:

Flash again 10.31 with TWRP and forget "Okitavera's Kernel for Mi 9 SE" for now.

Problem could be in [ROM] RevolutionOS-MIUI 10.31 for Mi 9 SE,
because
previous version
RevolutionOS-MIUI 9.10.17 works nice with Okitavera's Kernel for Mi 9 SE - v8.4

This is because Okitas Kernel is not Android 10 ready yet.

But hope soon, right ?! :D

    Good Bye :D

    Hello everyone!
Unfortunately, I have to stop the development for Mi 9 SE due to device change

The kernel sources for this device still available at my GitHub page if you want to fork or even just looking around.

Thanks for all the support given and see you later :)

    Breaking news.

Xiaomi already publish the Mi A3 (or Mi CC9, CC9 Meitu, whatever you named it, Xiaomi) Kernel source code.
It basically uses the same base as ours, and after some hours of inspection,
me and @pengus77 got a few things from Mi A3 and Mi 9 source code that can be ported to fix several issues on this device (like the brightness, fod, etc) :)

    Hello everyone!

Here's the update notes for v4.5

    Changelogs

    - Upstream kernel to 4.9.185 (android-linux-stable)
    - Allow enforcing deepest cluster idle state selection
    - Use power efficient workqueues on the vmstat and audio-kernel
    - hardcode dirty_expire_centisecs to 30s (https://android-review.googlesource.com/c/platform/system/core/+/938362)
    - Add IPA_RM12 and IPA_WS to the default block list (thanks to @pengus77 for more wakelock block list)
    - Updated Goodix GT9886 firmware from MIUI Dev
    - Cleaned-up unused touchscreen driver

    Notes
I can't fix the short brightness bugs on MIUI Dev yet, so lmao yeah.
