I think you missed my point. If you went back and read a couple of pages you would see that the developer was on a vacation with his wife. In the meantime he has delivered a new launcher that is much more tablet friendly. Remember, this is not like cyanogenmod where there is a team of people releasing nightlies.

I agree that there are plenty other builds with more frequent releases. However, none come close to how stable vegan tab 5.11 Beta is. Personally, I would rather wait an entire month until a stable version is released than an "oops" version that makes me have to nvflash my unit.

You are most definitely entitled to your opinion, but I think it is harsh to step in and call his project dead.
+1

In this, the age of instant gratification, people tend to be disappointed by anything but abnormally fast development cycles. Jeez, Mozilla has announced that both major versions 5 and 6 of FireFox will be released this year. Sorry, but it used to be that a major version change was reserved only for really drastic additions of features or functionality. Nowadays, minor bugfixes and interface tweaks prompt changes in version number and make the whole versioning process a joke.

That being said, this is (clearly labeled as) an "experimental" build and no one with any sense should plan on using it as a daily driver unless they just enjoy finding and reporting bugs to the developer. Additionally, anyone that thinks any of gojimi's projects are dead just isn't reading enough here and hasn't bothered to go to his website at all.

I use the extremely-stable VEGAnTab 5.1 beta and the latest VTL Launcher and have very few issues with all-day use. I also have no problem waiting until he releases an actual beta of the Ginger edition to try it out. I am confident it will be worth waiting for.

I got my tab from Sears at the beginning and have flashed tons of roms and this is my daily driver. Use it with VTL, Sipdroid, CIFS, etc. etc. Pershoot and Clemsym kernals...
I kinda tweak what I need to. Rarely fc's (usually happens after my 7 year old has had it for awhile and has all sorts of things going on it, lol)

I digress...

Thanks Gojimi.

Fully agree. This is a very stable ROM, that I use as my daily driver. It does all i want to have in my Gtab. As all of us waiting for next release but very happy with the current performance

Yes, that problem is well documented within this thread. Please take a moment and search/read through this thread.

TL;DR: Change your lcd density to 161. May have other repercussions with other apps, etc.

agree too ... the thing I don't really understand .. is what do you need? For me all the apps I want work fine, performance is good -- so I'm not sure what another version would improve for me, other than just being something new.

Now having something new is cool too .. but for me, switching roms' flashing back and forth, backup/restore just for fun is a lot of wasted time. I would be interested in the new Rom's but from what I've seen they are back to using the SDCard in the /ecmm directory and that makes backup & restore a bit of a pain.

MaxDamage has created a nice little zip file to switch the sdcard issue back. Simply flash it right after flashing the new CM7. He has a thread in the General section with all the necessary links.

Cm7 is now stable with official support for the G-Tab and it's quite nice. The new Tablet tweaks are a nice addition, and the system is very stable. It's worth the upgrade.

Not to try and speak for GoJimi, but with the G-Tablet now getting official CM7 support, I wonder if there will even be an update to this Rom? The 'Vega' Rom tweaks that were getting inserted into stock Froyo and/or GB ROMs (the status bar buttons) are now replicated in a more generic form via CM7's Tablet Tweaks. I think the work now will be getting hardware support/performance tweaks integrated into CM source.

I've been running GoJimi's VEGAn 5.1.1 since it's release and am loving it. I haven't found anything lacking in this ROM for me and my use so I can afford to wait until GoJimi gets around to releasing a version of this Ginger build that is as stable and feature-rich as the 5.1.1 FroYo version I'm running now. In the meantime I'm enjoying the sweet launcher he posted in the Apps/Themes section.

I've never been one to jump to a new ROM just because it's new. It would have to give me everything I enjoy now and give me even more before I would jump ship.

Hope Gojimi thiks different. I like to see him personally involve and knowing that the Rom has been proved in Gtab, and some one with "face and eyes" is suporting me and others.
