Hello, I will be grateful if somebody could answer my doubts. Its my first time on XDA and flashing ROM stuff. After many reviews I finally found EvoX to my liking.

1. My product is Indian variant raphaelin and I see thread to be for raphael. Is it still compatible?
2. I don't want to root, only want to install new ROM is that possible?
3. If some error happens can I recover my phone back to working state?
3. I have updated to latest MIUI 12 for India but read there are some problem where other kernel can be installed on top of this ROM to fix. I don't exactly follow what that means? Does this ROM's kernel not sufficient?
4. My main concerns are Battery and Performance. Any feedback on that, does it give random stutters?
5. A link to beginner friendly tutorial/video for Indian unit will be great (from unlocking the bootloader to finish). Most videos I saw are in low quality audio and feel like skipping to mention some steps which I cannot follow.

Thank you.

1. It is compatible with indian model.
2. Yes. You can use the rom without root but you need unlocked bootloader and custim recovery to flash the rom.
3. The stock kernel is good. You can try different kernels is you want to.
4. Performance is good. Battery life depends on the usage.
5. Watch KtnTech videos on youtube. He is a big fan of evolution x rom and has all the things covered

The Brave Browser scroll freeze issue still persists, albeit less frequently after I installed the latest Immensity kernel.

Does anyone else have any advice on what I can do to eliminate it? I was thinking about doing a clean install, but that might not resolve it either.

I have the same problem with Chrome every now and then. I am using F1xy kernel.
BTW, it does not freeze, it just does not update the screen anymore. When I swipe to scroll a few times, go to recents and back, then I am actually further down scrolled.

Is there any way to use a custom launcher with gestures navigations enabled that doesn't slightly break the home screen/recents interaction? I know this is a problem on pixel phones, but I figure people here have more control over the system and can actual solve this.

I like Pixel Launcher, but it seriously lacks any customizability, I don't want to see app names on my home screen, I'd like to be able to change my icons and being unable to remove the at a glance widget.

Changelog for latest (09/23/2020) Update

Hey Joey,

Awesome ROM! Thanks for your efforts.
There are just 3 minor bugs I spotted so far, in the latest (09/23/2020) release:

(1) Miracast/WFD is broken. Discovery of nearby clients does work, but it is impossible to successfully connect to any of them.
Log (showing several related errors) attached.

(2) "Unify back gesture vibration with system wide haptics" introduced back in the (08/10/2020) release -> The strength of the back gesture haptic feedback indeed follows the generic touch vibration strength setting. However, in each level, it is noticeably weaker than the feedback of any other touch event (e.g. the haptic strength "preview" when touching the radio button of the desired level in Settings). Long story short: back gesture vibration can be barely felt, even on the highest setting, especially when the the phone is in a TPU case. Logcat did not reveal anything relevant.

(3)
<<Updated, after some investigation>>
This is just a suggestion:
All texts (clock, battery percentage, etc.) in the status bar should be bound to the same "font style" setting. I don't see any use-case, where it would be preferable to use multiple different fonts there.
Now, the batt. percentage font is tied to the "Headline / Body" font setting in Themes. The time font, on the other hand has its own option in "Status bar -> clock options".
The font lists in these 2 locations are not identical, there are fonts which are not available at both places. And even if you select the same font name in both, in most cases you are out of luck, because with most fonts, the batt. pct. uses the bold variant, while for the time, the normal version is used. So even if you think you selected the same font, they will actually look different. Took me half an hour to find a combination (Rubik + Normal(default)) with matching looks. Not complaining, just trying to illustrate that the current approach is not exactly intuitive, and there is room for improvement.
