.

Ok saw them still a bit confused

Do i have to flash vendor ..?
Even if it is my first custom rom? Coming from official miui

If your device is Global/Euro/Russian just flash this vendor file and update the rom.

https://downloads.akhilnarang.dev/M...al-V12.0.1.0.QFKMIXM-10.0-vendor-firmware.zip

---------- Post added at 04:10 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:04 AM ----------

Dfe is required only if you're decrypted, it disables forced data encryption after a vendor is updated, and prevents you from the need of formatting data. You can search for the zip in this thread.

No, the vendor firmware already includes all the necessary firmware updates, so no need to flash miui stock rom everytime. Just make sure to flash the currently recommended vendor zip from below link.

- China: https://downloads.akhilnarang.dev/MIUI/raphael/RAPHAEL-V12.0.2.0.QFKCNXM-10.0-vendor-firmware.zip
- India: https://downloads.akhilnarang.dev/M...al-V12.0.2.0.QFKINXM-10.0-vendor-firmware.zip
- Global/Europe/Russia:
https://downloads.akhilnarang.dev/M...al-V12.0.1.0.QFKMIXM-10.0-vendor-firmware.zip
You can check your current vendor version in the /vendor/build.prop file.
it will be on the line that starts with ro.vendor.build.version.incremental

If i have the vendor 12.0.2 then i dont flash this?

So you're already on recommended vendor, just follow below steps.
Flash twrp
Wipe everything except vendor.
Wipe menu- format data.
Flash evo x
Flash dfe if you want to be decrypted (recommended)
Reboot to recovery - flash magisk if required.
Reboot to system.

You need to use magisk hide to use paytm and gpay. Default kernel is pretty good. But if you wanna try others you can try

Really nice ROM! I bought K20pro just a few days back and immediately installed this ROM. Faced battery drain issue of ~10% overnight for a couple of days but fixed it for now with aggressive doze profile and disabling screen off fingerprint unlock. Now just ~1-2% drain overnight.
But I still have a couple of issues:
1) I use the brightness status bar gesture and the minimum brightness it goes to is 24% even if I swipe all the way left. Of course, I can use the actual brightness slider to then move the brightness to 0% but still with the status bar gesture I can't go below 24%. Is there some XML file I can edit so that minimum of the brightness status bar gesture is set to 0%? If not, I think it's a bug. Adaptive brightness is already disabled.

2) Settings suggestions keep on popping in settings even if I dismiss/remove them. (For the 100th time Android, I do not want to turn on face unlock). It's really irritating. I even disable the settings suggestions app then also the suggestions come up even though the app is disabled. Anyway to remove settings suggestions permanently?

Hi all,
Hi Joey,

I would like first to thank you for the awesome job done on this rom. For a lot of years now, having installed roms on different phones, yours is absolutely the best result and the most successful.

However, I just have a strange behavior regarding roaming and foreign operators selection. Actually, when I cross the border and go to my working country, I cannot choose and decide which operator I would like to use. There is only one that is allowed. The 2 others (small country) are flagged as forbidden ? I also know that it's not a question of authorization because my son has the same home operator than me, and in the other foreign country, he can choose the operator he wants.... And he does not have a custom rom.
Do you have an idea ?

Thank you.

Tom.

While the previous comment suggesting you to format data is correct, user forgot to mention to make a backup first as all your internal storage data will be removed.

Dude when someone says wip all data, it means you are supposed to backup your data in advance. Now boot into twrp, sideload evo x rom(follow youtube tutorials) using pc. And you will have working evo x

Please explain how to backup

if you mean you want to recover lost data, i don't think it is possible since you formatted already, what you normally do is, connect phone to pc and copy everything you want to keep from internal storage to pc. this is mandatory before you do anything that involves making changes to device software.

you said you unbricked the device, what exactly is the state of your device now? did you flash stock miui rom? or you just have the device with twrp installed? if you have twrp installed, boot into twrp, connect the phone to pc and you can copy files from pc to internal storage, copy evo x rom file to phone and flash using twrp, if copying somehow not working, you can use an otg usb with rom zip, or sideload the rom zip using twrp sideload option. once you will have evo x flashed, you can connect to c and it will detect the device just fine.

First off, thank you @joeyhuab for your hard, free work, for your continued contribution where you choose to develop, and for all you do for Xda.

    tl;dr
stop the disrespect towards devs and their work
learn to build your own Rom, or find one you like
keep your rude, disrespectful opinions off Xda
show the devs a little respect and gratitude for all they do for Xda
if your comment isn;t helpful or respectful don't post it
continue to violate the rules and your account will be reviewed for restriction or removal
You guys have to thank @Az Biker for giving me a renewed confidence in providing further updates for the community. Since I've been re-assured the mods have my back, I'll assure them I'll continue on developing Evo for our device!
