HDR isn't working in Focal or the stock camera. It takes one exposure and then crashes. In Focal I can restart, but in stock I have to reboot before the camera will work again.

Anyone else have this issue?

I have no issues with focal other then the forward facing camera. In fact I totally removed the other camera and installed f stop gallery and adobe Photoshop touch and couldn't be happier.

I just tested the stock camera and focal with HDR and it lets me save and edit/save the photos just fine... try clearing the app data, or clear cache/dalvik cache and fix permissions in recovery.

I played with it some more, and it doesn't always crash, but it isn't taking HDR pictures. It takes one exposure (low exposure) and then doesn't take the other exposures or composite them, so it just looks like a dark picture.

Is that what it's doing for you or is it taking real HDR pictures?

I'll have to play with it more later to verify. If this is the case, I'm sure there will be a fix for it soon.

EDIT: OP updated with new builds! A lot of fixes and new functionality. Enjoy!

I did a little more research and broken HDR seems to be a known issue for all the major S4 variants, in both 10.1 and 10.2. Focal is (as one would expect from a beta) still very buggy and a lot of the effects don't work as well. It's also prone to crashes, some of which disable the camera until I reboot.

I guess I should hold off on CM a bit longer until there's a stable release. I can't stomach TouchWiz, but Google Edition certainly makes it a lot easier to hold out.

Yes, Focal is still very much beta. Everything will be worked out in time... :)

New builds uploaded and added to OP. I just wanted to note that the "date modified" for the zips aren't accurate. I just need to sync the timezone on my build boxes... the builds were initiated at 8am. Enjoy!

Thanks for doing these, it's nice to have IR support. Been using the WatchOn app the last few builds with no problems

I want to also add, if anyone is having issues with Trebuchet not keeping folders on your homescreen after reboot, you can install Nova as a working alternative until the issues with Trebuchet are worked out.

Yea that's what I did. It's been awhile since I've used Nova but man it has came a long way. After setting it up the way I like it it actually works, looks, & runs as smooth and with a few extra perks that Trebuchet doesn't have. So I would definitely give Nova a try...:good:

Starting a new build with the folder fix for Trebuchet! I'll keep you posted when it's uploaded...

EDIT: OP UPDATED! New build with Trebuchet folder fix. Report back if further issues persist.

EDIT X2: Doesn't look like this commit fixed that particular issue.

EDIT X3: I'll keep testing each build and checking for updated commits regarding the homescreen folder issue. Didn't mean to get your hopes up! :(

EDIT X4: Possible fix to the Focal camera with upside-down previews: COMMIT HERE will be added in the build at 8pm. Decided to make an early build (7:06pm) tonight. More builds to come tonight if any good commits are added. *Build failed. Removing commit and initiating a clean build.

EDIT X5: Fixed the broken link in OP for the UCUAMF3 recovery flashable modem.

EDIT X6: To keep you all posted, I had to do some changes on my bash script and run the build again. Should be done in a little over an hour.

EDIT X7: Ran into some issues with the build boxes. Doing a completely fresh sync and resuming builds early in the morning again.

EDIT X8: Sorry about the additional delays on the new builds. Making some major updates/changes on my main server and updating firmware for some of my hardware. Builds should be back regularly by this afternoon hopefully. Working around the clock here... I'll keep you all posted.

EDIT X9: Aaaaaand we're back! OP updated with new build. :)

[Homescreen Folders Update]

Update: It appears as if the folders on the homescreen now remain in place after reboots!

Edit: I've now done multiple reboots and folder creations to test if they will remain in place after reboot and they seem to stay! :)

Yep there was a fix for that overnight. Official CM nightlies didn't get it but this build did in time to get into todays build. They fixed a bunch of things with Trebuchet, CM's launcher.
