@formuk Can you tell us anything about the tricolor backs that HTC has started using and if they'll be on the T-Mobile version? It looks kinda tacky...
Tacky?....hmm? I like it

Each to their own I suppose

Sorry guys, been a little busy!

Bootloader is going to be locked with the same encryption that was used on the Thunderbolt and the Incredible S so if you've been following along with either of those two phones progress, you'd know that the Thunderbolt was decrypted pretty fast and Incredible S is also on the verge to be pried open as well.

This was confirmed by the engineers.

As for the little holes around the back (3 by the camera 2 on the bottom) will NOT be on the final model.

Tri-color backs - the middle part is an aluminium piece which is part of the framework of the phone and acts as an antenna.

Also, I should add that I am absolutely in love with the Sense 3.0 lockscreen. It really is as good as it looks on video. Not too fond of the "smoothness" of screen transitions though. When swiping side to side it didn't lag but it did showed a bit of low fps graphics. This very well could be because this was a beta phone though.

I'll add more info as I receive

Some nice info there formak..cudos to you my friend.

Did u manage to get any pics?

Have to say im not overjoyed with bootloader situation, have read thru IS thread and while user Bin4ry has made some major progress (which hes keeping closely guarded) , nothing is definite yet. Need to play the waiting game a while longer but im getting a feeling that it cud be the G2X for me...have no patience and a wad of cash to spend

I couldn't. :(

It was too difficult. The day prior we had a team builder where it was freely being passed around to everyone so I should've when I had the chance.

Right now, I'm sporting a G2x and always an N1. Let me just tell you that this phone feels about 10x nicer & more ergonomic in hand than the G2x. The 16:9 res on the Sensation in a smaller package makes the phone feel more narrower.

Imagine the N1 without the bottom metal bezel/track ball area. Exactly what it feels like in hand. You guys will love it. ;)

Some added food for thought:

T-Mobile+HTC will be releasing at least 1 new device per month til the end of this year. We know the Sensation will do HSPA+ 14.4 but T-Mobile will soon be releasing their HSPA++ (21mbps+). From that point, they will jump straight to 42mbps. So 21 -> 42. Keep that in mind with your purchases.

I see you also have a G2X. Which pulls a stronger signal, Sensation or G2X? I get no service at work and hope the Sensation can.
I didn't get enough playtime with it to tell you the answer that to be honest.

But what I can tell you is that behind the battery door, there are 4 separate antenna receptors. Not once anyone mentioned of a loss signal considering we work in a pretty big 30 story building.

No problems with the signal with my G2x either though.

@formuk
Did you try the loudspeaker? I mean ringtones are loud enough?
Because it's a big minus on DHD
I did actually and it's moderately loud. With the G2x if I turn speaker phone on it sounds like the speakers are going to explode with too much excessive distortion at full volume. Not so much with the Sensation.

Should be the sensation. Sense tends to hold a stronger data and wifi signal as well. Then most aosp roms. I can confirm this on the mytouch 4g. When I was out with my friend some part of upstate new York. His g2x had no service at all . I held on to 2-3 bars constantly on edge.

This is the kind of stuff we want to hear. As a Nexus One lover, I see the Sensation as looking like it's very similar in form, and I like that.

Now if you guys would tell us if/when the SGS2 is coming out...for comparison's sake of course.

That is good to know. Both work and home is under "good" 4G coverage according to their map. At home I'm usually at -105 -107 dbm. Work I'm on the main floor and sit right by the window and get no service. Obviously returning the G2X and trying my hand with the Sensation.

Let's not jump the gun on this:

You guys got me wrong!
I said that i made progress YES, but i have not achieved anything.
With progress there is one problem, you can make it to 99% and then your idea shows up NOT to work -> You will be at 0% again :D

So let me do my work and i will not let you hang out until the Sensation is out.
I just said that i will NOT publish the EXPLOIT !!!!

That means:
IF i get my idea running i will NOT make it opensource until the Sensation is out. Even more i will try to hide it from HTC like the unrevoked guys did it before ;)

I hoped that cleared some stuff here. So if i get anything to run you guys will be the first to know and benefit from it ;)

Regards
Bin4ry

I hate this suspens!
Perhaps Htc doesn't want to say ''yes it will be like IS meaning hardly unlockable'' so potential buyers will not jump into SGS2 pool ;)
I know it's a matter of time to unlock the IS and then the Sensation but if it will take months...
