Excellent work was wondering is the latest version of the rom on the website 5.11.12 (in the drop down menu), also do I need to wipe data cashe etc if I am coming from a previous version of Smiui?
Also my phone keeps on telling me there is an update available (I am assuming its about miui and not smiui) So I shouldnt do it?

If your phone is already running a previous version of sMiUI, then you don't have to wipe system or data, even if you chose any other mods/apps in the new version. However, it is recommended to flash dalvik & cache. Easiest is just to flash the ROM as usually in TWRP, and when the flashing process is finished, you will get the option to wipe dalvik & cache.

I don't know about the update available thing. But from what I know, sMiUI don't use OTA.

Guys, which exactly version of TWRP do you use to install this ROM? I can see two links in this thread: http://en.miui.com/thread-169401-1-1.html
So which will be 100% working?

Sorry for the nooby question, but I don't want to brick my first Xiaomi phone, even if I'm experienced in Nexus phones modding
Use the first download link. You will get a .7z file called "recovery for mi4c.7z" which you have to extract. Then you flash the recoverydev.img file.

By the way... are you running the default Stable ROM, or have you flashed the Developer ROM? If you've flashed the Developer ROM, then you can use an app called Flashify to flash the TWRP recovery. You can of course use fastboot to flash it as well if you prefer that.

I already have weekly MIUI V7 5.10.8 (installed by a seller) and I have TWRP (installed by a seller too) but I don't know which version exactly the seller did install. So I will use Flashify to install TWRP from the link.
Hope everything goes well [emoji14]

Yea, there's a built in adblocker in the ROM, which you can also find in the features list in the first post :)

Sent from my Mi-4c using Tapatalk
Didn't know that. Except the whitelist doesn't work. And it doesn't stop the ads showing, just fails to reach Google's ad server domain, it refuses the connection. It's really frustrating and seems to have also been an issue when using Chrome on my rollbacked version, despite it working when I first rolled back. I can use Opera lite or use Chrome's data saver which runs everything through a proxy for compression and it works. It's very odd. Wish there was an option to disable the AdBlocker in your custom build of sMIUI.

Guys, I need quick help, I'm unable to install this ROM. I've wiped everything besides internal storage, choose ROM file and I'm getting error during install:
failed to extract dir from "system" to "/system."
E:Error executing updater binary in zip

---------- Post added at 10:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:53 PM ----------

Uff, got working :) After gettting error, I did reboot to recovery and installed ROM without wiping anything again. Now its' booting.

Yeah, it is a known issue with some devices probably caused by the xiaomi ROM. Beside the slow download issue in the PlayStore it is very often mentioned in the xiaomi community.
http://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/no-push-notification-a-possible-solution.28810/

A possible solution is the following change:
echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/wlan0/disable_ipv6

This is already included in sMIUI, but you could check the value on your device if it is set to 1.

Works great. No bloatware and loving the volume mod...much louder now! For anyone having trouble, use this Guide with pictures that pretty much shows exactly what you have to do (including files). The TWRP from this site also works perfectly... Don't get frustrated, if it's not responding to touch at first! Leave it be for 1-2 minutes and it will work.

Also, on first install I have been getting an error "executing updater binary in zip". Got this working by: (as stated by @pianistaPL...thanks ;) )
1. Wiping (system, data, cache, dalvik)
2. Flashing once in TWRP with the error message
3. Rebooting into recovery from TWRP
4. Flashing again without wiping anything before

Hope this helps :)

Oy mates!
Been using this for more than 24 hrs and it`s perfect for daily use and comes with no china apps (that was the thing I choosed to use sMUI tbh). One or two piece of advice before you start this if you will come from standard MIUI. If you plan to use any other downloading apps (like youtube downloader, any other FTP downloader, etc.) keep in mind that it`s better to deactivate Xunlei download accelerator (if you are using it) before falash sMIUI. As you will see, after flashing your MI Apps Store will be gone, and therefore Xunlei accelerator can`t be deactivated afterwards. I tryied even with installing the MI App Store again, manually, but same result. The second, let`s call it bug, is that this international version of Theme manager won`t load you themes if you plan to try other for the fun of personalization, it keeps getting timeout connection, even if the network tester shows no problem with the networks (LTE, 3G and Wi-Fi). This is my 1st feedback on this well cooked rom for this awesome smartphone but I promise that I will come back to do more if there will be anything worth to be mentioned.
Edit: Themes can be accesed by browsing the Categories tab. And another thing, keep in mind that miui framework won`t let you apply themes downloaded any other way than tru Theme manager. That kan be (or at leas was working on MIUI V5) fixed using Xposed framework.

Another thing. The reboot to recovery from power menu dosent work. Dunno yet if there is a bug camed with the fact that I rooted the previous version using superSU and now the sMIUI framework dosent ask root permission where it should, or the sMIUI framework its just bugged. Anyone with a clean flash can try it and report here? The only way I can enter recovery its doing it manual, or from Updater - options - rebot in recovery.

Google Voice not working

Google voice is not working in this rom. GV is working when install CM12.1 in Mi4C. Any help would really appreciate. To Summarize, i could not make any calls when i install GV. All my calls used to go thru GV in others roms. In MIUI/SMiui doesn't work.
