Hi, i found this flashable file on XDA, stock moto camera + moto gallery.

i'm using AOKP 7.1 and this file has solved for me the camera bug: "can't connect to camera"

moto camera works till it updates from the store, then it FC's everytime. just me?

On RR, CrDroid, AOKP I just download the moto camera app from the play store and it works absolutely fine. No force closes, no connect issues

What version do you have from the Play Store? I'm still on RR 6.X. and this one below -- from new Moto G5 -- is newer camera than I had. Thank you to @Rahuld107 for finding it!

I just downloaded this modded APK, and installed it. I then froze the older Motorola (system) camera. The new one shows up as a user app camera. For a few minutes I had two cameras, until I froze the old one.

Everything works well. Yes, it even has professional mode, but I probably won't use that. Video works well too.

The V6.0.62.1 apk was extracted from this stock Moto G5 Rom after i noticed that it had a more up-to-date version of the app

The "res\raw\app_features.json" file has been modified to enable professional mode for the following devices:
otus - Moto E (2nd gen)
osprey - Moto G (3rd gen)
lux - Moto X Play
clark - Moto X Style
kinzie - Moto X Force
merlin - Moto G Turbo Edition
quark - Moto DROID Turbo (XT1254)

I'm on RR N 5.8.3 and everything works well, except the manual focus on professional mode. It keeps shooting in auto focus on my side :/

There's been a couple of fixes I think since I posted. Go to that thread and look for v4.
