[CM10][JB] Asylum Phoenix 20121216 Nightly - Slim and Fast CM10 Rom Resurrected

I'd like to use an OC kernel with this rom but Hydracore v7 breaks video ... any oc kernels out there that don't break video? What kernels are you all running with this?

You could try JellyBeer CM10 OC kernel from Kerner Repository.

Even though I don't quite understand your reason for not flashing the GApps package, here a link which I found via Google Now. I know, sounds fancy!

Doesn't work. Boots me back to main screen. I found another .apk and it did the same ....

Moral of the story might be to just follow the instructions in the original post.
Flash ROM + Gapps -> all fine

Only issue I found was Facebook contacts don't sync even though you select for them too. Awesome ROM Chas

I tried that on anti's final aokp build - it doesn't work for me. I don't think it ever worked for me I read somewhere that somehow things changed during the transition from gb > ics, and with jb, the 'flaw' in syncing fb contacts remained.

@chas: will you be doing aokp too? I'm running your Room* now - and it has to be said - for any inmate, this just feels like home. :beer:

I understand the wisdom of doing so and it is in fact what I would usually do, but in a nice stripped down rom like this it seems a shame to just load all the gapps back on to it, especially when I don't need or want them all. The whole point of this rom for me is that it is a lean and fast machine. Didn't want to bloat it back up again.

I don't think so. I've always preferred the more austere CM; it is more up-to-date, leaner and faster, and there's hardly one or two
features/customizations AOKP has that cannot be accomplished in CM as well.

But I'd like to incorporate some of the Slim goodies in Asylum CM10; we'll see how it goes and is it even feasible, though.

Colour (e.g. in system settings) has been "asylumized", which means it is black! :thumbup:

Some additional info on Rom updates:

How often will the Rom be updated?

There'll be a new version as soon as there is at least 6-7 CM10 new merges, or if there's only one crucial change.
It could be daily, or every few days.​

No, it doesn't, it works for me too. No idea what caused it in the previous build, kerner™ perhaps?
