I just flashed the 9/10 CM10 for the first time and I'm wondering if the devil kernel is working okay with CM10? I came from AOKP M6 and would like to stay on devil if it plays nice with CM10

It's my understanding that Devil kernel works with CM10 and other mtd-based ROMs. There's been some reports of bootloops, but they've been resolved by flashing a extra time or two.

Just wanted to say that I've been updating sometimes daily with the CM10 nightlies, and have had great success with only clearing Dalvik. I do have to follow my ROM flash with a GAPPS flash, but as soon as I log into my account with Play, I'm good to go again. Takes 15 minutes tops.

They are going to start releasing M-category ROMs each month, with a goal to lock down and have a stable version out each month, for those who don't want to hassle with replacing your ROM almost daily.

I've been having fun flashing CM10 nightlies, and I'm very impressed with the smoothness and functionality of the rom. However, I just decided to flash devil for the hell of it and it started acting a bit choppy/weird, not as smooth as the default kernel. I flashed both the VC and CMC versions a few different times to see if it would be different, but still doesn't seem that smooth. Also I found it weird that when I go into settings>about phone it says that kernel version is 'unavailable'. Luckily I haven't run into any bootloop, but I'm considering going back to default if this doesn't steady out... anyone have any suggestions? Also, I have devil recovery now instead of the CM10 recovery... will simply reflashing a CM nightly restore the recovery, or do I need to do a straight fresh install?

I'm really liking CM10 and for the past week I've been using it as my daily phone with VZW service. That being said, there appears to be one glitch with the firmware. If you call *228 to either activate or update your roaming, it's impossible to get the numeric keypad back. The only button you get on the screen is a "Back" button which disconnect the phone. I've tried numerous means to try to bring up the soft number pad, but have not been able to figure it out (including holding down the capacitive menu key). Luckily if you wait long enough "activation" starts without entering any keys, but it's impossible to update the roaming capabilities.

That's normal actually, try *22891 to update roaming directly

Iirc reflashing a ROM should update the kernel to whatever is packaged with the ROM.

I believe it will restore the recovery when you flash CM nightly again. Let us know if that removed it, as I was going to check out Devil kernel too. I may wait a while now, though.

You can also use *228+ to bring up the keypad.

I'm on the 9/15 nightly, back with the default kernel, and it's running spectacular. There's a lot more options I miss from devil, like better governor and i/o schedulers but overall default is snappier for me. Hoping he'll update it soon so I can try again. I also really miss being able to have the notification lights flash instead of being on all the time

Does anyone have a link to the best working gapps for CM10? I'm looking to give Jelly Bean a try!
You can kill two birds with one stone by downloading the CM10 downloader from the market.

Sent from my SCH-I500 using xda app-developers app
