New Clock in GApps 4.2

Had same problem with clock (always do a test alarm :D). Deleted (or rename works) old clock apk and wiped data in 4.2 clock and all works like it should, except night mode which won't auto engage when docked. But I really do like the new clock.

BTW...I went ahead and cleared both caches before flashing CM10 11/08 nightly and the 4.2 Full GApps package. This time, I cleared the data for the clock, and it's working perfectly now. Got my alarm this morning, and I used the timer tonight when grilling. Very nice addition. I just wish it had a widget, and I could get rid of ClockWidget4ICS. Would also be nice to be able to use the new clock with the lockscreen.

Anyone seeing a problem with no ringtone playing sometimes on an incoming call? I can watch the screen reporting an incoming call but no sound plays at all. However I can call it right back and it will play it, then maybe the next call or two and it won't play it again. I was using one of the stock ringtones. It's maybe once every three call average.

It's also happening on AOKP JB Milestone 1. I'm using stock kernels on both.

I haven't had any problems with incoming calls not playing a ringtone, although there have been a couple of times when I realized I missed a call, and wasn't sure why I wouldn't have heard it (just figured I had the ringer vol down too low, which I do a lot inside). But now, I'm wondering. I'll have to pay more attention.

That was my theory when it started happening as well. But I started testing it and could watch the screen showing the incoming call while it was happening laying on a table and hearing nothing.

Yeah... JT posted yesterday on rootzwiki that he has fixed some bugs, including a volume-related tweak. we should see the results in the next successful nightly build...

In his own words:

"Fwiw I fixed a few bugs in the past few days. Backuptool has been fixed so gapps don't need to be flashed each time you update any more. Fixed the ota programming call so that the keypad now shows up. Also lowered the default speaker volume levels to help with in call echo issues."

He hasn't mentioned anything about why the phone doesn't always ring? I've even seen someone on rootzwiki's thread that is reporting it as well. That's the main thing that keeps me using JB as my daily driver.

I saw that post too... Haven't experienced the bug though (well, not that I know of, given the nature of the bug :).

Does it show a missed call, or is it like the call never happened?

I started a thread under Q&A about this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1979174

I can have the phone sitting on the table with the screen off, call it and watch it. The display turns on and says "Incoming call" with the lockscreen animation for me to unlock the phone, but there will be no ringtone happening. I can hang up, wait a few seconds, try again, and it will ring fine. It's about 1 in 3 that it doesn't ring.

I keep hoping someone can find this bug and squash it. I'd really like to get off of AOKP ICS M6, but I have to use a ROM that I can depend on that I will hear calls coming in.

Hey I want too confirm this I've been converting the fascinatate ROMs to the showcase well the cm uodater doesn't work and its aggravating. Can I just run the fascinate version? I don't use MMS so that isn't a problem.?

OK, that's weird. Do you use Profiles? The basic features of profile configuration don't seem to work as intended for me, but I've assumed there was just more for me to learn -the application groups and all that (but I can't be bothered)... How about the quiet hours feature?

Nope. I even turn off profiles altogether.

can anyone riddle me why I always get status 0 and a failed install whenever i try to install CM10 nightly? I've installed it before but I've been running CM9 for awhile and I wanted to try 10 again.

I boot into CWM 6.0.1.5, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe Dalvik and then try to install the .zip from the sd card but I ALWAYS get a status 0 failed now. What am I doing wrong?

Pull /tmp/recovery.log and post it.

I couldn't find that file but ROM manager gave me this error as soon as I put CM9 back on.
I can install CM9 no problem but CM10 never works. I never lets me format /data or /system. It lets me format /cache though.

I mean is the CM10 file supposed to be a certain place when I flash it or am I supposed to mount some filesystem before I try to install it? I can install CM9 at any point but it always gives me a status 7 saying it'll change the filesystem the first time I try to install CM10 and then it gives me a status 0 and a general error when it tries to actually install it

Don't know if this happened to anybody else, but I tried to upgrade using the cmupdater last night and it bricked my phone (although I was able to recover by odin-ing to EH03 and CWM4)... Anybody else get bricked?
