OK thanks. I need LTE so I will wait to see if someone figures it out.No... It connects, but then disconnects and reconnects repeatedly.

Doubtful LTE will ever work on such an old ROM (for newer bootloaders)... No one is actually maintaining or building it, so it is pretty much as-is.OK thanks. I need LTE so I will wait to see if someone figures it out.

Since we are unlocked, can we just go back to a previous developer bootloader?FWIW... Not that anyone other than me will probably look, but here is the prob. cm11 with the OF1 boot loader/baseband doesn't recognize the SIM correctly. It alternates between not detecting it at all, and seeing it as a "3g only" device.
probably no way to change this without pushing changes to the CM11 tree, which seems really crazy at this point![]()
My understanding was that we can't... But I will revisit it and see if that is an option.Since we are unlocked, can we just go back to a previous developer bootloader?
Are you on OF1? I left a link to NK1.My understanding was that we can't... But I will revisit it and see if that is an option.
Yes, thanks. Here is the million dollar question... Once the BL is downgraded, can LP/MM ROMs still be installed? Are you on OF1? I left a link to NK1.
I don't think so. At least when I went back to 4.4.4, it required the NK1 bootloader and going back to 5.0, required the OF1 bootloader. Otherwise, it would not boot.Yes, thanks. Here is the million dollar question... Once the BL is downgraded, can LP/MM ROMs still be installed?
I may give it a shot just to find out
So, this process seems to say it is possible to downgrade the OF1 bootloader to NK1 via TWRP... Hmmm.I don't think so. At least when I went back to 4.4.4, it required the NK1 bootloader and going back to 5.0, required the OF1 bootloader. Otherwise, it would not boot.
I am curious though, does the NK1 fix the LTE not connecting issue? If so, I think I will try CM11.
You use ODEN to go back to NK1. It just installs the bootloader. I THINK since our phones are unlocked, it is just look like a developer and would remain unlocked. So, this process seems to say it is possible to downgrade the OF1 bootloader to NK1 via TWRP... Hmmm.
If there were a TWRP package to flash back to OF1 that would sure make things easier
It isn't the downgrade that I worry about... It is having to go back through the entire ODIN/unlock/root to get back to OF1 (if I wanted to).
Need to figure out how to package it myself I guess.
The link you sent seems to have it as a TWRP (actually) package where you then restore a nandroid of user data. Only the kernel is flashed in ODIN.You use ODEN to go back to NK1. Don't know. I thought the kernel could be flashed separately and that should fix the LTE issue. If CM11 is based on 4.4, there are incompatibilities with OF1. The 4.4.4 rom in the thread I linked earlier won't boot unless you go back to NK1.The link you sent seems to have it as a TWRP (actually) package where you then restore a nandroid of user data. Seems like the unlock exploit relied on OF1... Doesn't about have to match on each boot?
Yeah... Maybe I will start by trying some kernels first. It could be that the CM11 kernel is not compatible with the OF1 baseband. Maybe a different one will workDon't know. I tried installing the modem from here. I downgraded from CM13 and after installing CM11, it showed I was still on OF1. I had the same disconnect/reconnect issue you described. I also had an issue with the AOSP keyboard crashing. Aside from that, WOW, it ran better than CM13. I had to restore CM13 for now but would like to figure this LTE disconnect issue out.Yeah... It certainly blows CM13 away as far as performance, battery, and stability...latest nightly has been on my primary Note 3 for 8 days and I don't think I will bother going back to CM13!I tried installing the modem from here. Dang...... That is great that you figured it out though. The disconnect/reconnect is strange. It stays connected for about 45 seconds. While connected, it works fine.Figured out how to get the baseband to stick... Rebooting directly from Download mode causes the original one to be restored. The old "battery pull" method works to interrupt that process.
Boot to Download Mode
Flash modem
After "PASS" remove USB cord
Remove battery
Insert battery
Boot directly to Download Mode

After "PASS" remove USB cord
Remove battery
Insert battery
Reboot to ROM
And now the bad news... NK1 modem does not fix LTE.
Will test more as time permits.
