I put CM-11-20160320-Nightly on my HD+ following PeteinSequim's notes for a CM12 install: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nook-hd/general/install-cyanogenmod-12-1-barnes-noble-t3211119 but substituting appropriate CM11 nightly file and GApps for android 4.4. The tablet will boot TWRP with a Home/Power button press, just for your information. Would appreciate any insight people have on the below items:
- First annoying issue I ran into was getting on boot "Unfortunately, Clock has stopped". Found tips online and solved by Stopping that task, and/or Clearing data & cache on clock under apps.
- I then went to Play store looking for Nook app for Android which said it wasn't compatible. Imagine that, and I'm on a Nook. Found people online saying they edit build.prop to install it, and either leave it like that or flip it back to whatever the default is. (what is default anyhow? -I haven't looked) But many people complain that doing this corrupts their OS and they need to re-flash? So am leery of this. Any advice? What is "re-flashing" anyhow? Wiping the tablet and starting over again from scratch I assume?
- Another annoyance is, I find when shutting down properly with quick tap to power button and choosing Power Off, it will restart instead. If I repeat it a 2nd time, it WILL shutdown.
- Finally, under Cyanogenmod updates, it lists my 20160320-Nightly as "Installed", but below that lists what appears to be older ones (20160221 and 20160313) , as "New". How can older be newer? Should I ignore this? Will ones any newer than 0320 ever appear under here?
- Are "nightlies" what I assume, that is, progressively fixing bugs or adding features? If not, then why not stick with the last "M"(stable) version? And if so, is it a good idea in a month or 2 or 3, to put the new nighty on? Is there a way to do so without wiping the tablet and starting from scratch?
