alright so im having a really big problem. tried latest nightly flashed with philz 6.56.2 after all appropriate wipings and it froze after boot logo. then made it to upgrading apps but never passed it. so i attempted a restore. restore failed after got to data and then i figured i would just go back to stock 4.4.4 update using rsd (which has worked in previous times where i faced problems, and re-wrote everything (boot img, system files, etc) now i am back on stock and still can not make it past boot screen. please help, my father is terminally ill and my device is the only way i can currently reach him during his stays in the hospital (which he is currently in)

EDIT: Used rsd to flash TWRP and fully remove all OS, format entire phone, remove all files so no possible residual could mess with fresh install. flashing fresh 4.4.4 on now. Fingers Crossed.

EDIT2: Full reinstall of stock 4.4.4 after deletion of full OS restored phone to pre-setup state All is well, but still dont understand why CM made things this difficult.

I had problems with the last two nightlies as well. I had the same problem as you - hung up on boot logo or "starting apps". I just had to factory reset, and install the last working one on 4-27-2014.

What were you flashing from , What custom recovery did you use, and have you ran into any bugs on that build ?

Downloaded via CMUpdater. Used TWRP.

Yeah, it has one bug that "bugs" me. Speakerphone when you place a call doesn't work. It works when you receive a call. I'm sure there are others, but I haven't noticed.

And last question, what device are you using? And is it consumer or Dev version (if applicable)

Update: latest (aug 30) update still stuck at Boot logo and or Starting Apps screen coming from 4.4.4 unlocked stock droid maxx Consumer edition, will try aug 27th fw and report back.

Edit: Aug 27 boots perfectly but wifi is broken for me. will not connect to any networks. because i am on a tight data plan on verizon, i will have to wait for a new nightly . one that hopefully makes it past the Cyanogenmod boot screen

Running the same thing and the last 3 nightlys hang up. 29,30,31 . and 27 WiFi is broken (for me at least with two fresh install attempts)

I'm currently forced to run snapshot vs nightlys due to their current state of bugginess and the snapshot has a broken GPS. Is there a fix for this floating around anywhere ? I did a little searching with no success.

The 27th nightly works well. I have WiFi problems. I think I'm going to try to change a different TWRP. I heard 2.7 might cause problems with our phones. For example, can't make backups.

I'm using twrp 2.7.1.1 and it is working flawlessly in all aspects . my problems appear to stem from the cm roms.

Please report back though with an update if changing twrp versions results in success In any of the new nightlies or WiFi on 27

GPS restored on snapshot by accessing profiles , default, enabling GPS, and checking box. Previously, all GPS failed to work regardless of turning location and GPS on or off until accessed there. That was strange. Makes me wonder of it will work for the WiFi problems on 27 nightly

So, I tried CWM recovery. Still the same issue with the nightlies, this time 09-01 one. Still hanging on "starting apps."

If its not the recovery, I have to think its the nightly flashes. But, three in a row? Why would they not fix it?
