CM13 / CM14.1 Mi4 screen flickering and very dark, also in TWRP, MIUI works fine

Hello,

I have a really weird:

I have a Mi4, TWRP 3.0.2.0 and had cm-13.0-20160905-NIGHTLY-cancro.zip installed.
Unfortunatly I am not entirely sure, when the problem exactly started, but the other day, my phone screen started flickering and was very dark, you could barely read something.

I tried disabling Live Display, Adaptive brightness, but it did not help. After I noticed, that on bootup the "Mi"-logo showed normal brightness, I could rule out a hardware problem. Interesting thing is, same thing happened in recovery. You can change the brightness there, but on max brightness, it is still barely readable and flickering.

I fully wiped my phone and installed latest MIUI global dev Rom. It works perfectly fine, no problems with the screen. After that I fully wiped again, because I prefer CM and wanted to try again. Screen is dark again, also flickering. Now I am back on MIUI, everything works fine, but still in TWRP the screen stays very dark.

What could this be? At first I thought about a Kernel problem, but the fact that the problem also exists in TWRP made me wonder.

I tried switching to CM14.1, but the problem still occurs randomely there, too.
I tried switching to latest CM recovery, same problem.

For everyone following this: I managed to solve the problem by flashing this kernel after flashing CM: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24686681827314188

Little downside is; the kernel has a double-tap-to-wake-feature, which gives me some random unlocks in my pocket.

But do you had black TWRP ?

Yes, I installed Kernel Auditor and solved that. Yes, TWRP was very dark, too.
