CM13 or CM14 for camera performance?

I'm currently using AICP 7.1.1 on my Le 2 x527, I have tested many ROMS. But have avoided Marshmallow ROMS. I was told that since that most of all ROMS are based on LineageOS (CM whatever) they all have the same problem, of having an unstable camera. I'm suffering from very low-quality photo previews before taking pictures. Is that the case just for Nougat ROMs or LineageOS in general for this device?
If so is there any way of knowing if it will be fixed?
Just to mention, can somebody link me the latest MIUI version for the x527 that doesn't suffer from low screen brightness problem?
