I meant stable cm7 by quarx posted under thread "cm7 by quarx" - that is not nightly, right?. From what i've seen, nightlies are development versions, so they could have bugs the other versions don't have. So what's the point of installing nightly over stable release? Are there really any visible advantages? Or is it just art per se?

well...no1 is forcing u to instal nightly`s builds...but u help the devs by posting bugs or share the opinion on that thread
and fyi there are no stable versions of cm7 for the defy yet only RC
and to give u more information on your question, there where 2 months between rc 1 and rc 1.5...and in that time there where like 5 kernel changes and wifi drivers upgrades, red camera reworks, usb/wifi tethering...so yah us that instal nightly`s where able to use those features before u that instal only stable builds

I think this best nightly thing is junk. I enjoyed RC0 the most.

I recently got almost 2 days from ms2ginger and realized that it was because only 1/3 email clients was syncing - and Lotus Traveler is a battery hog! There's nothing u can see by reading others' posts like this - our CM7 is already quite decent - nothing will drastically change in successive nightlies.

I have gotten 0.6% (yes!) hourly battery drain overnight when I was recently out trekking, so the phone was used only to click pics. It lasted almost 3+ days but what was the point - its impractical. Just like someone once advised me to switch off data and use airplane mode during the night.

I find that I can manage 24 hour between recharges with most ROMs and that is good enough. Doing too much optimization is too much hard work - thats not what most average people buy phones for!

The best nightly that i enjoyed so far and has been stable for me is 110914-0407 i get a Gps lock on almost instantly never seen it so fast before. But yes its correct like stated before there isn't any best nightly because its updated so frequently you just have to find the one that works best for you i find that this one works best for me so ill stick to it for a few weeks before updating again battery wise i find its pretty good. overall :D from me
