not restoring system data are you?

No only user apps I have no problems on other roms. I just don't get it??? Is there a limitation on the amount of apps you can have on CM7? I've got like 400 or so! lol

Am I the only one who has issues with cm7 when restoring all user apps with tibu? I get major issues such as the system stops responding and phone keeps shutting down. I don't have this issue with any other rom. Does anyone else know why this could be happening?? I seem to be the only person with this issue?? I dont get it???

Does anyone have a solution to this issue?

When I plug the phone into the dock, the clock comes on (bounces around) and the screen never shuts off. I have timeout set to 1 min and after 1 min, the phone clicks (the sound when you turn off the screen) but the clock still remains. It is as if it tried to turn off the screen but didn't work.

Yeah I do do that "restore missing user apps" and I still get problems. Trying out the new nightly right now with fauxs new kernel and supercharger script for ****s and giggles hoping thats a good combination for me.

Edit: nope still not working and system has stopped responding again about halfway through restoration. Damn!

I installed CM7 for the first time last night. It is awesome and everything but I'm facing few minor issues and was wondering if anyone knows a solution/workaround. I tried searching this and other forums but didn't find anything [it was a quick search so I might have missed something]

1. I can't seem to change the ringtone. It just randomly picked one of the songs from internal storage and no matter what I do it won't change it. I've tried changing ringtone both in Settings->Sound->Phone Ringtone and Settings-> Profile->Home->Phone Ringtone but its still rings the same old stupid song every time.

2. Phone vibrates too much during the calls. It vibrates few times AFTER I dial a number, when the ring tone sounds and during the call as well. I noticed that whenever I move phone slightly from my ear i.e. proximity sensor activates, the phone vibrates. Any way to turn this off? I've already unchecked all the vibrate settings in Settings ->Call Settings->Advanced Settings

3. Sometimes the phone just loses the data connectivity, both on wifi and mobile network. It is still connected on wifi and/or 3g/2g and I can turn them off and on but still I can't browse or do anything that uses data. The wifi/data icons turn white instead of green. The only way to fix it is by rebooting the phone. Turning off wifi and mobile data or switching between 3g and 2g has no effect. Anyone else encounter something similar?

4. Charging is very slow. I have my phone on charge for nearly 2 hours now and it has only reached 86% from 20%. Last night I had it for 4-5 hours and it didn't go beyond 91%. Do I need to calibrate battery or something? On the other hand, phone burns through battery very quickly; a little faster than even stock. My understanding was that CM7 would increase my battery life but it has gone worse.


All the above issues were not present in stock. And btw I'm on latest CM [25 Oct], with baseband version: n_01.77.30s.qn.


Edit: After restarting the phone just now, I noticed that ring tone is finally updated and it doesn't vibrate that much, though it still does when I answer a call. Still it seems like a bug and changing the ringtone should not require a reboot. Issue 3/4 remain.

I am having a sms problem, i get like 10 copies of every sms i get, like the whole day i get copies of the same sms i received in the morning. I dont know if its a carrier issue or not since that started after i flashed cyanogen, anyone have this too?

I've read about some of the data/wifi issues in the other CM7 thread..but i'm not sure of a workaround. Might want to go digging in the main thread in the Development section.

As for your battery..are you sure it's not fully charged when it's reading 86%? Use something like Battery Calibration app and check the mV reading. When it's fully charged it should be about 4200mV. I've been having ALOT of battery issues ever since going to GB..where my battery will only charge up to around 98%..even though it says it's fully charged. It's annoying as f***, but what I do is (while still plugged in) reboot the phone, and then pull the battery. It will reboot and bring up a ? looking for a battery. Pop the battery back in and it will read 5%, and generally sit there without moving. After about 15mins, i'll simply reboot the phone again (while still being plugged in) and after reboot..it almost always shows 100%.

in the settings-> cyanogenmod setting -> input see feedback you can adjust how strong it vibrates. default seems to be very light setting.

I have edited those and my haptic works every where else besides the notification toggles. I'm just wondering if they're even supposed to vibrate? I've never seen this issue brought up before..

I am thinking on a strong come back, but as retro games lover (psx,n64,snes) its critical for me the hdmi mirroring. Does CM offers hdmi mirroring on present stage? Have anyone heard that its going to happen soon? Tyvm in advance.

I just fiiinally installed CM7 (the new -B^-N one) and I love it. Everything seems to be working great - except about 3 or 4 times a day, when my screen has turned off whether by automatic timeout or by me pushing the Power button to turn off the screen, the next time I try to wake it up, the screen just won't turn on no matter how many times I push the button or how long I wait in between attempts. I've discovered that if I plug it in to USB, that's enough to wake it up immediately and the screen turns on. AC Power doesn't do the same, though, and I'm not always by a computer so I've had to pull the battery.

Well, I just went back to it with this newest update and sure enough, i'm sitting here and my phone won't wake up. It also won't wake up after it shuts off during phone calls so I can't even end the call and hope the caller does. This pretty much makes my phone a brick. No one tried to help me last time around and you've just been blown off as an isolated incident so i'm hoping me mentioning the same problem will bring some "light" to this major issue.

Secondly, I cannot use google maps, google navigation it just says error starting application every time i try to start it up. Any idea on a fix for that? I love the theming and want to stick with this but once again it's causing me problems that I hoped were fixed with this latest release.

Have you guys tried searching for this issue on the project home page? There is also an FAQ with a GPS troubleshooting solution.

If you can't find the screen issue in the bug tracker, then follow the requested procedure for reporting a bug. You'll get a response, but expect to be able to reliably duplicate the problem. It doesn't sound like a widespread bug if only 2 out of thousands are experiencing it. But you never know. The development team can't do much about an issue if people do not follow the correct procedures for reporting bugs. Like t0bld said, help them help you.

What program do you recommend for voice inputs ? Moto had installed Vlingo, is that any good and does it work with CM7 ? I am using swype as a keyboard.

I know how much people LOVE to post questions in here as if it's the CM7 ROM and get all pissy about how things dont' work, but keep in mind that if that were true and a bunch of stuff didn't work it would NOT have been made part of the nightly CM7 releases. Also, it wouldn't have been released if that were the case. The devs work very hard to make sure most major problems are taken care of before every release, but if yer flashing A NIGHTLY, keep in mind it comes with NO promises of functionality and it is STATED in the OP that it shouldn't be used as a daily driver. So if you have a stable version, such as the lastest stable version found on the development page OP, then post a question or comment here after searching for the answer with search feature here and google. Otherwise, there's a Nightly post section as well in the Development side if you wanna look there and that's what yer using. Most of the time if there is a major issue and you can't find it on the bug tracker than it's yer phone, or something you have installed that is messing with the functionality of the ROM. Lastly remember folks, it's the developers job to make their product work with the ROM, not the other way around. Have fun, happy flashing!
