Im an old time CM7 user and it has fixed nearly all my problems.
I got one question, on my atrix, unlocking from lock screen and browsing through the apps menu (up or down) it isnt smooth. in fact i can notice tiny jumps.

Are other people finding the same issue? Im on 1ghx faux and do not really want to go to the 1.45 ghz because cm7 on 1ghz milestone 2 was much smoother than this. I have done full wipe, cleared cache / batt stats and dalvik.

PS: I know what custom rom is and what kernel is, flashed both quite easilly. i know what recovery menu is. What is a Radio? i havent flashed that or changed that..or have i?

I live in an alleged H+ area (NYC Metro)... What APN should I be using? CM7 only loaded me with one, where as previous rom's have had multiple APN's.
Thanks,
find out the apn settings for your cell provider then add a new apn by going to settings/wireless networks/mobile networks/access point names/ then press the menu button bottom left then new apn.

Anyone had issues with Hdmi morroring, mine not working at all even in Portrait, HDMI mirroring in BIUILD PROP set to true. I plug it in to the Flat screen and the screen jumps for a sec but nothing.

I have a couple issues after flashing cm7, I posted in the Dec thread but this is probably a better place for it, sorry for the double post. I can't change my ringtones, when I go through system settings android reboots, ringdroid force closes... also, winamp can't find my music which is weird. I've been looking for a fix all morning, hope someone can help. Thanks

Is there any way to easily change the background color of the incoming sms message in the messaging app without applying a new theme? The background is a very light color and hard to distinguish from incoming sms or sms being sent. Would like it a bit darker.

if you go into the settings on your messaging app, there is a box to set a black background. hope that helps :D

Reflash your rom, but when you restore from titanium backup DO NOT restore system data

I speak from experience, I did the same thing..took me a couple of flash and re-flashes to figure it out  lol

Problem Installing CM7

I'm going to sound completely stupid, but this is my first time trying to install a custom ROM or anything similar on my phone.

I followed the instructions on the CM7 thread, and I got to the point where I'm supposed to boot into Android Recovery. Sometimes it works, but then stops with the android logo and an exclamation point and is just stuck there.

Other times I just get the following message when I press the Volume Up to select Android Recovery:
Failed to boot 2
Starting RSD mode
then it just gets stuck after that. If anyone can please help me that would be great. Thank you!

No idea what you're running, so go here and read up. If that's not new to you, flash romracer's recovery (following his instructions fully), and then do the same with cm7.

That should always be step 1: follow the instructions. If they don't make sense, then you will most likely need to do some more reading.

Everything is pretty straight forward. Good luck.

I suppose I should have been clearer. I don't have a problem booting the phone normally. It'll just boot using the stock ROM. I want to put CM7 on it, but I can't get to backing up my current ROM (let alone trying to flash CM7). I hope that clears things up.

So, when you try to boot into recovery mode you get errors, correct?

Have you tried redoing your steps to get the new recovery onto the phone?
If not, you should re-download the files and start over(incase the files were corrupted and that's why you're getting errors)
