Still no Luck ....
Hi. The version of TWRP I'm using is 2.8.6.0. Maybe try that one. Also, I'm on the same kernel that is used with the Note 4 port. You might try that one if you are not using it and not having any luck. There is a link for it in the Note 4 port thread. Hope that helps!
EDIT: Shouldn't have anything to do with the kernel. Hope the other version of TWRP works...
Nope - it did not work....I still get the same "Zip verification error' even when using 2.8.6.0- no matter what I tried. I did forget to mention something else: I was on the latest Columbia (2BOK1) rom (5.0.2) and then I tried to flash back to (BOH2) or even BOD7 - but it all fail.
So I was forced to not go backward, but forward. SO I ODIN flushed the official 5.1.1 - it worked. At least I have a phone again.
Then I managed to flash TWRP 2.8.7.0 and that seemed to work fine. - I have TWRP recovery. I reboot immediately into recovery before going into the OS and flashed CFAutoroot 2.52.
My phone boots, past the Samsung screen, gets to the T-Mobile screen - I hear the Jingle tone and then it boot-loops.
Now what? Ideas? I think the Kernel is detecting that I am trying to apply Root, when its not Permissive - how can I get a custom working Kernel for this rom that is Permissive? I had the same problem and similar behavior trying to root my Tab S2 coming from 5.0.x to 5.1.1
Anyone willing to help make this kernel permissive so we can flash it with ODIN?
Edit: I guess we'll have to wait till Sammy bring out the sourcecode before someone can dig into the Kernel, correct?
Darn, I hate to be stuck without root and all this crapware on the phone!
Thanks.
