Ok,, I think we lost eash other somewhere.

I think you should flash the new firmware cok 2 with odin(remember when you flash cok2 you will never come back again 5.0.1 anymore)
Wait untill phone boot
Then flash recovery, and flash zip file of TEKHD
I WAS on the default COK2 rom - that was the only way i could get my phone to work was to flash the Sammy ROM - COK2 (since I was on a Columbia BOK1/ 5.0.1 - I could not flash DOH7 or BOH2) - I could ONLY goto 5.1.1 aka. COK2.

Then I flashed TWRP, and CFAutoroot - but it went into a bootloop.
Then I re-flashed the COK2 Odin rom, reflashed TWRP - and everything was working fine, but no ROOT.
Yesterday evening I flashed the kernel (Emotions, or whatever it's called), rebooted and flashed SU 2.52.
No data

Flashed
Installed XPOSED
Restored Apps with titanium backup
Removed bloatware

All 100% working. Thank you!
Two questions: 1) can you enable reactivation lock? 2) Are you able to use the edge wake function by rubbing the edge?

Sorry for double posting.

Flashing the emotion kernel will give you superuser . There are no other steps other then using TWRP or CWM to flash the zip then you're good to go after build prop changes. I'm using my note edge N915T, straight from COK2->TWRP-> custom kernel. I believe flashing Superuser ends up boot looping the device, I tried many different ways and times but you need a kernel with the vulnerability in it to root.

I'm hoping that someone down the line comes up with a way that we can just flash superuser without having to flash a custom kernel as root was before 5.1.1 on the note edge.

I only have two issues so far, data works fine (cellular) and build prop fix made it so Wi-Fi settings stuck. But 1) Reactivation lock cannot be enabled, this is very concerning to me as my device is far less secure now. 2) Edge screen rub to wake is broken. I'm mostly concerned with reactivation lock than anything else

Reactivation lock issue may Be a side effect of selinux being disabled, would be open to ways to revert this, would rather a secure device than NTFS read capabilities. I'm hoping and praying there will be another way soon.

CF just did - check out this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-edge/general/easy-root-edge-phones-stock-kernel-to-t3266156

I tested it and it worked just fine - no need to flash a 'custom kernel'. I was on stock kernel, Still had TWRP recovery and just flashed 2.6.1 - Bob's your uncle ! _ I have root !

BIG thanks for ChainFire!

Omg thank you so much, Bob's not my uncle anymore, you are after this one ;p the custom kernel is garbage, causing me so many hangs in many apps

Do you happen to have a flashable zip of the baseband & stock kernel?

Additionally, the directions on 2.61 say to restore the stock /system partition.

Is that necessary for us running this stock ROM?

AS far as I know, one cannot flash the modem with a .zip file (never could with Samsung - but hey, I have been wrong before!)

Unfortunately I am in the office and I do not have it with me. But it's easy to create your own.
..take the default Sammy rom, rename the extention to .zip, Open the zip file and remove everything accept the modem file. Close the file again and rename it back to .MD5
Then load this file in Odin.
I use a very handy tool called Total Commander (www.ghisler.com) to help me with this.

How do you install xposed? I am having a really hard time with it.

Sent from my SM-N915T using XDA Free mobile app

download:
XPOSED Installer from Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3383776&d=1435601440
Install it.
Go to TWRP/CWM and Flash: xposed-v75.6-sdk22-arm-custom-build-by-wanam-20151026.zip
(or whatever the newest version is, Do NOT download arm64)
-Correct?

I'll make one tomorrow for everyone.
Do you have the directions to flash the new root and stock kernel?

I just flashed two zip files that @TEKHD provides in his Note 4 port to set up Xposed. Seemed very easy to do at time and worked fine.

Anyone know how to change dpi on this rom per app basis
Flash and install xposed go to modules and look for app settings. Install it, enable it, restart phone. Open it and configure dpi of any app. I attached the two xposed files you need to flash. Credits to tekhd and wanam.
