I just got the XT1045 peregrine (LTE), does TWRP 2.8.3 support encryption on this device? I like to keep my phones encrypted. Thanks.

I was playing with it, but with encryption the device is unbearingly slow. It doesn't work with the recoveries I currently have posted.

I encrypted mine and I don't notice any slowdowns, but unfortunately that renders custom recoveries less useful in particular for TWRP backups, /data is empty. I assume flashing things like SuperSU should still work though, as far as I know /system is not encrypted, only user data.

Uploaded a v2 with some new changes.

Encryption isn't working on custom roms with the recoveries I posted, are you perhaps using a different recovery?

first impression ... holy *
- this feels very smooth... even the "animation lags" in some particular situations/apps are gone from what i can tell, i like it, let see how the memory issues work out, big thanks

This is the answer i'm looking for. It has "Stock SMS app can't send messages" bug like AOSP http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/development/rom-android-source-project-t3060704.
So, It is normal sms app FC... until Google fix it

Flickering will occur as lollipop kernel is being used with KitKat bootloader - Just turn screen off & on again


This should be fixed when Motorola release official lollipop 5.1 for this device which is currently being tested

So, It is normal sms app FC...

the sms app crashed only one time after boot, after dealing with flickering by turning the screen off and on, everything is smooth and perfect, almost because i'm occasionaly noticing some not quite 60fps animations, more like 15fps, especially when screen is rotating

I'm using TWRP 2.8.3.0 from your first post, stock 4.4.4 ROM, rooted. I can boot into TWRP just fine, but /data is empty but that's expected as I never get prompted for the encryption passphrase like I do with my Nexus 5 and 7 devices. I was hoping TWRP would support encryption by now, the device has been around for a while Hopefully some day soon. I'm used to TWRP backups. Meanwhile any recommendations for backups? TiBu, Helium, anything else?

So far, I've found a very common problem in CyanogenMod which is the intensity (lumen) of the flashlight application way too low

I'm using Google Camera. 720p rec and 5.0 Mpx photos work great!

5.1 is working great so far. Thanks for posting, tried to build it myself but my internet sucks and I gave up after downloading for three days straight after I used repo sync -c. Thank you very much for posting.

Everything works great , no more problem with ram and it looks faster.
The only issue that I have is that Google messenger app can't show conversations and I can't send sms with it while stock sms app can.

i had some issue with this as well, however mine was caused by incorrect filesystem format (i had my filesystem set as f2fs and failed to boot). your best bet is to factory reset, make sure to wipe data, cache, system, dalvik cache. (wiping data will make you lose all files saved on internal storage). after doing that flash v2 and gapps for 5.1 and it should boot without issue. (key word should). it took about 4 hours for me to get mine working again (i however didn't have the power of the internet at my disposal at the time)
