comparing op5 and op3 camera...

I wonder anyone own both op3 and op5? Can you tell your experience of picture quality of them?
I own op3, just received op5, the big reason to get op5 because of expecting a better camera. To my surprise, after comparing the photo quality of them, op3 is better than op5. I tried different settings in pro-mode, op3 is pretty obvious sharper than op5. If I switch op5 to 2x mode, of course it's better than op3. But comparing 1x to 1x, auto-mode (just pull out the phone and click take pictures, which is the most used cases), op3 is sharper. I have already updated os to latest, still the same.
I want to find out is my specific unit has lens issue, or other op5 also worse than op3.

I assume you're saying your op5 is way better than your op3 in auto mode 1x lens, is that right?
If that's the case, my op5 unit has optic quality issue than, unless my op3 is extraordinary sharp which make op5 inferior.

OnePlus 3 images are sharper and more consistent at getting usable photos.

OnePlus 5/5T camera at a glace has better dynamic range, but it's just differences in image processing, camera is unstable because it's more sensitive to movement, the majority of shots are unusable / blurry.
