I tried the trial of OfficeSuite today(only for viewing PowerPoint slide shows) and it handles them quite nicely, special character and all (sigma, omega, etc).

Anyone know of any office software that can cope with saving in the .docx format currentlyhave quickoffice hd and there's still no support for it?

I can't remember which one off the top of my head, and my Xoom is in my bag, but I'd check the other, more recent thread. The OP gave me the new thread link in the top post on this page.

I tried most of the android office apps, Smart Office is not the easier to use (it takes some time to get use to it), but it is the smoothest : when you scroll or zoom a document, it is very smooth, and that is important for me.

I am beta tester for softmaker office. Really good program, you'll be impressed when eventually it get released. Hopefully very soon. It will also support footnotes edit and create.

hi at all,now that i have the Gs3 i want have this 4 office suite gratis thanks to amazon:
-office suite professional 6
-documents to go
-polaris office 4
-smart office 2
-kingsoft (free)

what's the better for word .docx files?i can't try any of this,it's too long :/ and the comparison is of an one year ago,all the software are at least one major update later :(

You should definitely try the SoftMaker apps. I bought them and after a first quick test run they look much better than anything else out there:
