...$28 well spent...

I am really surprised too. 28 dollar can never be a new panel, it might have some quality control issues or its refurbished. In the zuk parts zuk-store with official reseller from Lenovo a new lcd panel costs 119,90 euro (136,72 USD).
Just to report back. I ordered a new screen for my smashed phone. It arrived from Singapore after 3 weeks ... and it looks the part (see photo) ...
I guess it took me 90minutes to fit ... I panicked at one point when I realized I needed to de-bond the old screen glass from the chassis ... but youtube put my fears to rest and out came the wife's hairdryer ... and that worked just as they said it would to my amazement.

Pictures show my repaired Z1 against my replacement new Z1 ... the repair screen can be seen to be throwing out a bit less light ... but its not bad...in hand it seems just fine. The Better quality photo attached here shows the replacement screen at full brightness.

I'm happy with the end result; glad I went to the trouble and took the risk.
Note: There is a youtube video showing disassembly of the Z1 ... I followed this through step-by-step. You will need to be "handy" to make this work ... and delicate too ... if only for around 90minutes :)

Cool. I have had a bad time with replacement screens. Backlight problems, screen bleeding, ghost touches.
But if this screen is fine for 28 busks, why not! Thanks for the share.

Hey, thanks for the feedback :good:
I ordered a screen, because my touch homebutton/fingerprintscanner was defect and also decided to change from a white zuk z1 to the black one. The homebutton is included in the Package.
Waiting now for shipping :)
Could you please post the link to the video?
