thanks you man :good:, i instal the rom but i have a probleme i cant conect my windows live ID ?!! help me :(
Okay, you need a windows live id code?

1. Go to this link: https://gethelp.live.com/Pages/MSO.aspx?Locale=en-us&Product=wp7&Topic=Marketplace&ForumID=226241
2. Click on chat
3. Write that you need a windows live id code
4. Click "sumbit," and wait to a chat windows appear
5. They will probably ask you for your IMEI number, so find the IMEI number on your Lumia (Settings - About)
6. Chatting....
7. Write your number into the Lumia, where they ask you for it.
8. You should save your number if a later reset is necessary

Do you get the Hotmail error code (85010017)?
1. Settings/E-mail/Windows Live
2. Change server name to bay-m.hotmail.com

Good luck :D

Working

Very accurate tutorial, 100% working.

Thanks a ton Dev.YoungBoy for your huge work!

Waited years to get rid of DLOAD in a easy manner and to flash a custom rom :)
It's sad that there are not so many customs roms for the old Lumia 800, RainbowMod 2.2 and FunkyROM v2.0 being the only valid alternatives as i found.

Good luck in all your projects!

I finally unlocked my Lumia 800. However is full of the usual bloatware that carriers always like to put in smartphones. What version of Lumia 800 firmware shall I use to give a debranded life to my smartphone? Where can I get it? Won't a oficial version of firmware change the bootloader and simlock again the phone?

You should update to the lastet 7.8. I think some custom ROMs have removed the pre-installed Nokia apps. In many ROMs you can also change which store you want to use (Nokia, Htc, etc.). Yes, an official firmware will remove the bootloader and simlock the phone again.

You can use this custom ROMs:

- FunkyROM v2. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2089513
- RainbowMod 2.2 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1665651

Good luck :D

Dev.YoungBoy : Thanks a lot man. Yesterday, I flashed my Indian Nokia Lumia 800 RM-801 successfully to Qualcomm...which was previously DLOAD. After that I installed FunkyROM 2.0 without any problems. The tutorial given by you works 100%...u r a superhero for me! I was waiting since so many days for unlocking my Lumia 800...in an easy n less cumbersome way. After reading this post of urs i got confidence & didnt fear about bricking my Lumia 800. U deserve a lot a respect for all the hard work u hv put in while preparing this post, which even a layman can understand & fully unlock his/her Lumia 800. Hats off to u brother. :good::good:

My main purpose of unlocking & installing a custom ROM was full control of my device. Now, I can organize my data into folders by connecting my Lumia 800 to my lappy via WMDC...!!!

I have two more queries which I wannna ask u bro...

(1) I am from India n our national language is Hindi...Hindi messages, texts, emails, websites, etc. are not readable in Lumia 800 (this was also d case before i installed FunkyROM 2.0)....as well as all other devices running on WP 7.8...I see boxes whenever i receive Hindi language messages. I have a Hindi language Font file named " Mangal.ttf " in my lappy. Now, how do i install this font file in my fully unlocked Lumia 800? I hv read smwhere about making changes in d Registry of WP7 Root Tools, etc...but I dont know d exact procedure. I will be really thankful if u help me out in installing this hindi font file in my Lumia 800.

(2) Second query is about " Bazaar ".. I think Bazaar is not working anymore... I tried registering for a Bazaar account but cudnt connect. I have searched xda forums & came to know that Bazaar is not working for anyone.

Bazaar is not a serious issue for me since i can download XAP files from elsewhere. Only problem for me is absence of Hindi font (Mangal.ttf) in my Lumia 800. :(

Thanks for positive feedback! :)

Okay, your hindu language is like small squares ( □ □ □ □ □ □ □ □ □ □ □ □ □ □ □ □ □ □ )

You should try this
1. Download Mangal.ttf from (http://www.fontpalace.com/font-details/Mangal/) the Windows version
2. Open WMDC (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2691682)
3. Go to the explorer and click on the phone, then click on \
4. Go to Windows folder and insert the Mangal.ttf file (not in the FONTS folder)
5. Do a soft reset on your Lumia, by pressing and holding the volume keys and power button together for 5-10 seconds
6. Then turn it on!

I don´t know if it working, but please give me a feedback on it

Yes, exactly...:( Instead of Hindi alphabets I see boxes like this : ( □ □ □ □ □ □ □ □ □ □ □ □ □ □ □ □ □ □ )

I followed step by step...what u asked me to do...but no success...still the same boxes.

Meanwhile, I found an xda thread about changing the font in Windows Mobile 6.
Please go through this thread : (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334781&nocache=1)

The above thread talks about CHANGING/REPLACING the default english font to a new english font...but in my case I want to ADD Hindi language font (Mangal.ttf) by keeping the default ENGLISH font AS IT IS.

WP7 has the same kernel as WM6...right? If yes, then can I follow the steps mentioned in above thread, on my Lumia 800..?

Both WP7 and WM6 uses a CE kernel. The WP7.8 uses the CE kernel 6.0, and WM6 uses the CE kernel 5.2. So it should work :)

I discovered that the location in the guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334781&nocache=1) is different from wm6 to wp7. I recommend to use WP7 Root Tools

The deafault font in WP7 is SegoeWP, I find it two places
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GDI\FONTS
- /Windows

You should try to put your font in here (remember not .otf but .ttf):
- /Windows/Fonts

But here are the location of the font in wp7:
Find the keys named "Nm" and replace the value data with the name of the font you added

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GDI\SYSFNT
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE\Menu\BarFnt
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE\Menu\PopFnt

Location for the font size (not language):
Change the value data with the name of your font
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI\FontAlias

You should try it, and give me feedback on it! :)

I have also tried to use this application (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2589622) but it only replaces the SegoeWP fonts (like this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1898893)

Good luck!

Registry Information - Fonts

Buddy, I followed what u said... Thanks a tonn! :)

But, I am NOT able to view Hindi language in Text Messages, Whatsapp & Email...I am still getting boxes here. I don't know why.

Thanks! Here I have some information you should read

I think this information is important to get the Mangal.ttf to work in the messages and Gmail inbox

Before you start to follow this I recommend to have checked the box "Start WMDC automatically" in WM Device Center on your Lumia. I have tried to do different things in the registry and I did something wrong, and the apps on the Lumia did not open (the apps actually open for like 1 second and closes instantly). Fortunatley, I had ticked off the box in WM Device Center, and could make a backup of my sms and contacts to my computer before I did a hard reset...

Information:

TrueType Collection (.ttc) is an extension of TrueType format (.ttf) that allows combining multiple fonts into a single file. The Windows CE 6/7 provides a font linking capability so that you can link one or more TrueType fonts to another TrueType font.
To enable this feature you should go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI and click on FontLinkMethods. Make sure the value data is 1.

Notes:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GDI
FontLinkMethods=dword:n

n can be 1,2 or 3, as defined:
1 - Enables cell height adjustment for fonts that are created with a LOGFONT lfHeight member value greater than 0. The adjustment for cell height is most typically warranted for this category of fonts.
2 - Enables cell height adjustment for fonts that are created with a LOGFONT lfHeight member value less than 0.
3 - Enables cell height adjustment for fonts that are created with a LOGFONT lfHeight member value either greater than 0 or less than 0.

You should improve the graphic layer cache performance in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI\GLYPHCACHE\ (create if not there)
Notes:
Change the value of "limit" to 8192 or 16384 or 32768 or 65536. But I recommend to have 65536 (I think that value is default in the Lumia 800)

You can map linked fonts to base fonts by configuring the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\FontLink\SystemLink registry key.

Notes:

The following example shows how to link SegoeWP, the base font, to Segoe UI, the linked font, by providing the path to the linked font .ttf file and the linked font name.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\FontLink\SystemLink
"SegoeWP"="\windows\segoeui.ttf,Segoe UI;\Windows\seguisym.ttf,Segoe UI Symbol;\ Windows\tahoma.ttf,Tahoma"

The last name (Segoe UI) indicates which font that should be used in the package file (.ttf or .ttc). When adding the font names to common.reg, you need to make sure that each font is listed with its English name.

When using font linking, you can define one or more Unicode characters that should be obtained from the linked font, even if they are present in the base font. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\FontLink\ and create a registery key named SkipTable

Notes:
This registry key is read only when the OS boots.
Create a string value with the base name of your font (Value name), and the with the Unicode Standard numbers (Value data) you want to use. It can be something like this: 005c, 00a5, 007e, 0391-03c9, 2026, 2116, 221a, 25a0-25ff. You can check this site http://jrgraphix.net/r/Unicode/0900-097F

Font - Lumia 800- Wp7

Okay, here are some more information :) :

The HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI registry key enables font linking
The HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GWE registry key supports the windows, dialog boxes, controls, menus, and resources that make up the Windows CE user interface (UI).

Make sure the font (Mangal.ttf) exists in the \Windows directory on the Lumia

This are standard settings, but make sure you have it correct:
Go to .....\System\GDI\FontAlias and make sure the "DefaultUIFont" has value data "SegoeWP"

Make sure the "Nm" is "DefaultUIFont"
This is the location for the Default Fonts

System:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GDI\SysFnt
Menu bar:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE\Menu\BarFnt
Pop-up menu:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE\Menu\PopFnt

You can change the variables and values in the registry keys in this folders (↑)

(String) "Nm"=font-name
You can get font-name if you dobbelclick on the font (Mangal.ttf has font-name Mangal)
(DWord)"Ht"=height
Font height, in pixels
(DWord)"It"=italics-flag
Set to 1 for italics; 0 for no italics
(DWord)"Wt"=weight
Font weight, which can be one of the FW_* values
(DWord)"CS"=character-set
Defines the character set, which can be one of the *_CHARSET values

Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\FontLink\SystemLink and click on the SegoeWP.ttf

At the buttom on the value data add:
;\Windows\Mangal.ttf,Mangal

Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI and add this value

Value name: name of the font you added in /Windows ("Mangal.ttf")
Value type: DWord
Value data: 1

If you reboot your Lumia, you should have the font you added (e.g Mangal.ttf) readable in Internet Explorer.

Need Help

Hi,

I have problem in Step 1. I hold Power on and Volume Up and wait till it vibrates then I let loose the buttons and it vibrates again. When WP is booted I attach the Phone via USb to my Computer.
Anyway what I do always my Phone is connected as Nokia Lumia 800 not as "DLOAD". So Chimera dosen't detect my phone. What can I do?

Greetings
